I don't think people have grounds to complain about Dua's airplay success compared to all other established female artists (Taylor, Miley etc). Its not a criticism of her airplay success as a whole, itβs just about one song. Levitating outperformed BMH on streaming by a lot, so it was annoying to see it peak only at #4. Overall, Lipaβs had impressive success at pop recently. |

I don't think people have grounds to complain about Dua's airplay success compared to all other established female artists (Taylor, Miley etc). Its not a criticism of her airplay success as a whole, itβs just about one song. Levitating outperformed BMH on streaming by a lot, so it was annoying to see it peak only at #4. The latter is #55 on AM, which is pretty impressive considering AM is way more rap/r&b oriented. I also donβt remember BMH spending much time on Spotifyβs top 10, where levitating regularly shows up

Even if "Love Story (Taylor's Version)" starts having a dwindling performance after its first day, it's still likely to debut, which is impressive on its own.
Also, the boost for "willow" is great news for its chart stability. It's already performing better than "cardigan" overall, so it should hopefully have a better shot at making the Year-End. π€

I am a bit confused about the 'Goosbumps' situation. Of course there are the Travis Scott original from 2016 and then the Hvme cover from last year. But now there is this remix. And what confuses me is that some music charts (mainly European ones) seem to combine the remix with Travis Scott's original. But others, like Billboard but also in the UK and Australia, seem to combine the remix with Hume's cover. Now to me Travis' vocals on the remix sound a lot like his vocals on the original, which to me would make it a remix of the original (even though the remix sounds near identical to Hume's cover), but then Billboard etc. combine the remix with the Hume cover, which makes me think that Travis vocals on the cover are actually newly recorded.

rodeordie- when I saw "free falling," I was expecting to see "Love Story" much further down the Apple Music chat than No. 15.  The fact that it got as high as it did there, given what it is, is pretty impressive. |

Love story lost about 50% in streams for its second day on Spotify....
I doubt itβs getting a top 10 debut if it continues to lose streams like this.

The drop for Love Story is huge but... that's to be expected. It's still a 13 year old song that probably everybody knows or at least recognizes at some point. Majority of GP streamed it out of curiosity and nostalgia, to see if there are some differences between the original and Taylor's Version. Besides, it's not even included in the biggest Spotify playlists.

Oh alright, I've seen this article before but for some reason thought we have access to more data now. Yeah, ten thousand sales in first 24 hours is a lot nowadays but still I'm more curious about the sales from Taylor's website. After placing the wanted merch/album/anything in a shopping cart it suggests buying a digital version of Love Story. Maybe this will have a significant impact on the song's placement on the chart, who knows.

Taylor Swiftβs βLove Story (Taylorβs Version)β garnered 5.8 million in on-demand streams (audio and video combined) in the U.S. on its day of release, Feb. 12, according to initial reports to MRC Data.
On Feb. 11, Swift announced that she had re-recorded her 2008 album Fearless, as Fearless (Taylor's Version), and that the updated lead single, βLove Story (Taylor's Version),β would be unveiled on Thursday night (Feb. 11). Fearless became Swiftβs first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, while βLove Storyβ was her second Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit. Since then, Swift has tallied seven more No. 1 albums, and 27 more top 10 Hot 100 hits.
Meanwhile, the original version of βLove Storyβ logged 672,000 on-demand streams on Feb. 12. On Feb. 11 it snared 504,000. In the days leading up to Feb. 11, the original βLove Storyβ would normally net between 270,000 and 325,000 daily streams.
To put the Feb. 12 streaming figure for βLove Story (Taylorβs Version)β in perspective, in the week ending Feb. 4, there were only 55 songs that logged more streams that week than βLoveβ did in a single day.
Re-recordings of older songs or albums are treated separately from their originals, with independent chart histories for each version. Thus, Fearless (Taylor's Version) and "Love Story (Taylor's Version)" will chart separately from Swift's original 2008 recordings of the album and song, respectively.
