Anyone else notice Taylor says "Romeo" like "Room-e-oh" instead of "Rome-e-oh" in both versions of Love Story Iβve noticed and Iβm trying not to let it bother me but for some reason itβs definitely bothering me

If "Love Story" managed to go #1, it would've been hilarious and interesting that throughout Blinding Light's run songs released in the 90s (AIWFCIY), 00s, 10s, and 20s were #1 hits.
Regardless, LS could probably go top 10, so that means Blinding Lights has been in the top 10 simultaneously with songs from the 50s/60s/70s/90s/00s/10s/and 20s.
If only it was top 10 when "Last Christmas" was, then it would've been simultaneously top 10 with songs originally released in the last 8 consecutive decades.

I would assume LS drops pretty quickly as everyone is familiar with it.

Taylor got a Superbowl sized boost on Spotify today (+16-17m compared to a few days ago). I wonder how much of that will go towards Love Story re-entering and how much will go to boosting her Evermore songs. I would like to see Taylor get an actual Superbowl boost within the next few years. Her and Ariana.

^I guess their AI isn't that intelligent, then. I figured it works well for r&b (like if I leave auto play on after listening to Kehlani, for example) but its suggestions for pop are... questionable at best. Anyway I think Choco meant skipping songs in a playlist like TTH, which is supposedly what influences the placement of the tracks in a spotify playlist.

Why isnβt Love Story (Taylorβs version) showing up on the US view on Spotifycharts.com?
Edit: jk I think it was serving me a cached version of the site

I suddenly got so high that i was wondering what song from the 00s hit #1 during BLβs run, and then i realized you said if love story hits #1. Considering this already never happened yet, iβm still shocked at how songs from the other decades managed to hit #1 or hit the top 10 during BLβs whole run

Love story has a good chance for top 10 if streams remain stable, maybe even top 2. #1 if she pulls some typa gimmicks to boost sales or adds playlisting? Could prolly say its locked for top 10 at this point. Highgly doubt 34+35 is going #1 at this rate. Streaming increase today was pretty minimal and radio is stalling. That exclusive CD could help it but i doubt it'll do much.

Taylor ties Drake for most solo US Spotify #1s, with 9 apiece.
Next most are some artists with 5.

I hope this wonβt become a trend, like all the remixes of old Hollywood movies, that are kinda more of the same. Let a live performance try to put a new spin on the song.

The βLove Storyβ #1 discourse will be moot if Drake drops literally anything tomorrow
It might not even go Top 10 if he decides to release all of CLB

I hope this wonβt become a trend, like all the remixes of old Hollywood movies, that are kinda more of the same. Let a live performance try to put a new spin on the song. I mean, the main reason Taylor is doing this in the first place is because Scooter Braun bought out the rights to all her music and she now has to begin the arduous process of reclaiming ownership via rerecording. I think something similar happened to JoJo fairly recently (albeit with less fanfare). However, between Aly & AJ and Mariah putting out new versions of old songs in the recent past, we are starting to see it happen more and more. At least in those cases itβs for well-established classic songs; itβs not like BTS or Nicki putting out a bunch of versions of the same new song in order to boost sales numbers.

"LS" is declining heavily on iTunes, and I'd expect something similar on Spotify.

I don't think anyone should have expected LS to keep up the massive numbers. It's an old song after all. Charting at all is a win.

Dropping on a Sunday seems pretty bizarre but I guess it does fit with the album name for Valentine's Day, although I don't think Drake is dropping personally. I think it'll be April like Views so he can catch a summer radio hit.

Drake's album isn't dropping in at least a couple of months. Earliest I see him dropping is in the summertime.

Taylor Swiftβs "Love Story (Taylorβs Version)" is off to, well, a swift sales start. Meanwhile, the track β which is not being actively promoted to radio stations β drew a smattering of airplay on its first day of release.
The Sales 'Story' β¦ The new re-recording, which was released on Feb. 12, sold 10,000 downloads in the U.S. that day, according to initial reports to MRC Data.
To compare, in the week ending Feb. 4, just three songs sold more than 10,000 in the entire week in the U.S. β Tom MacDonald's Fake Woke (14,000), BTS' "Dynamite" (13,000) and Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License" (13,000). (Sales in the week ending Feb. 4 are reflected on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart dated Feb. 13.) Taylor Swift's 'Love Story' Re-Recording Gently Reinvents a Modern Classic
On Feb. 11, Swift announced that she has re-recorded her 2008 album Fearless, as Fearless (Taylor's Version), and that the updated lead single, "Love Story (Taylor's Version)," would be unveiled that night. Fearless became Swiftβs first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, while "Love Story" was her second Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit. Since then, Swift has tallied seven more No. 1 albums, and 27 more top 10 Hot 100 hits.
As for the original version of "Love Story," it sold about 200 downloads in the U.S. on Feb. 12. In the week leading up to the release of the re-recordingβs release, the original version had been selling a negligible amount on a daily basis. Through Feb. 4, the original "Love Story" had sold 6.13 million downloads in the U.S.
Re-recordings of older songs or albums are treated separately from their originals, with independent chart histories for each version. Thus, Fearless (Taylor's Version) and "Love Story (Taylor's Version)" will chart separately from Swift's original 2008 recordings of the album and song, respectively.
News on the Feb. 12 streaming activity of "Love Story (Taylorβs Version)" will be reported in the coming days.
And Now, The Radio 'Story' β¦ As for radio airplay in its first day, "Love Story (Taylor's Version)" β which is not being actively promoted to radio stations β drew 144 plays on Feb. 12 on 89 stations that report to Billboard's all-genre, audience-based Radio Songs chart, a sum that translates to 777,000 audience impressions. Leading the way among those 144 plays, 83 were on reporters to the Pop Airplay chart, 34 were on Adult Pop Airplay reporters and 12 were on Country Airplay panelists.
How does that play compare to the 2008 version?
The new take drew more than twice as many plays as the original on Feb. 12, which logged 67 plays yesterday on Radio Songs reporters. Adult Contemporary chart reporters accounted for 25 of those spins, followed by Country Airplay panelists contributing 12.
While the new version attracted 777,000 in audience impressions on Feb. 12, the original drew 227,000.
Though "Love Story (Taylorβs Version)" is not being actively promoted to radio, instead, three tracks continue to be promoted to various formats from Swift's latest LP, Evermore. "Willow" rose 11-9 on the most recently published Adult Pop Airplay chart (dated Feb. 13), becoming Swift's 24th top 10 on the tally, extending her record for the most among women. It also held at its No. 9 high on Adult Contemporary and climbed 23-20 on Pop Airplay. Meanwhile, the set's "Coney Island," featuring The National, repeated at its No. 26 best on Adult Alternative Airplay, and "No Body, No Crime," featuring Haim, kept at No. 60 on Country Airplay.
The original "Love Story" hit No. 2 on Radio Songs (and No. 4 on the all-genre, multi-metric Billboard Hot 100). It topped Country Airplay and Pop Airplay and remains the only song to have led both lists. It also crowned Adult Contemporary and rose to No. 3 on Adult Pop Airplay.

This is such a funny way of trying to twist it. Reality is her songs start out slow because there isn't much interest in her music, and end up sticking around thanks to extensive radio and playlisting. THIS! She gives me plant vibes. ...that's just how promo and a strong team works. Have y'all really forgotten hyped A-list releases peaking in week one isn't supposed to be the norm?
