It isn't much of a deviation from their signature material but it's melodic - and it's a rugged kick that alt. (and active) need at this point in 2021. Very nice - B or B+.

Really curious to see how this does on alt. In an Entercom-focused society, veterans and hard rock fare worse on alt, not to mention, they are now on Loma Vista, whose majority of their current artists chart on AAA. Their main active success is Ghost, and they were Marilyn Manson's label until he got cancelled. I can't think of a recent success they had whereby an artist of theirs performed on alt the best. But I predict this to perform on a similar level as the new Offspring song. Maybe a little better since "The Violence" was a bigger hit than "Coming for You".

Under Cool New Music for Active as well, but not going for adds.
This is a really melodic anthem, packing a great chorus, and the rhythm guitar is doing something different than the usual Rise Against stuff (it's hard to describe). Definitely not re-inventing their wheel, but this song just sounds good, and uniquely timeless in a way Rise Against has never sounded before. It makes me wish this was an opening theme to an anime or a credits theme to a blockbuster movie.
So yeah, this sounds great to my ears. As Doc would say, download/check.

It's not gonna break "broken"'s record, but it's melodic fire, and it rocks proper. That's all some of us really want. Download/check.

I didn’t love it immediately like I usually do with their stuff, but it’s solid and a welcome addition in today’s music climate.

I'm completely fine with this. People have been giving them flack for sounding repetitive for the longest time since they do have a distinct sound with Tim's vocals.
This song has more of a sound that is suited for radio's current climate. A lot more melodic than we're used to hearing, but also has enough of their punk sound included as well. It has a catchy chorus with a great message as always.
If the new album is just like this song, I'm all for it. It won't be my favorite album, but this direction would be a smart move for the future in my opinion.

This is what I wanted after that disappointment of that new Offspring song. Not bad, I like this one.

Yeah, it's more of the same from them musically and lyrically. Which I wouldn't mind so much if it were catchier, but I guess I must have a different definition of "melodic" than some of you.

Rise Against was one of the last bands I saw live before the pandemic. They still bring it on stage. This is very good. I don't like it as much as I did "The Violence" right out of the gate, but I've had it on repeat for a few days now. Good stuff, as usual.

It should surpass the MB peak for "The Violence" in the next week or two. This includes re-passing Billie Eilish. ATM this looks destined to be Rise Against's first top 10 on Alt since "Satellite".
18 14 RISE AGAINST Nowhere Generation 1342 1188 154 2.222
It helps that several Audacy stations are onboard this one.
