I always considered something like Tejano to be Mexican country, but I'd have to look to see if there is anything given a genre name like that. Tejano is literally Spanish for "Texan" and basically refers to Mexican-Americans who live in the state of Texas, so that kinda makes your initial argument of why is Texas included rather than Mexico seem moot, lol.  |

I haven't listened to the songs yet so I cannot tell you whether the relevant genres are present, but regarding the people, Bri Bagwell was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Edit: lol I also don't think Pulse likes the genre very much considering the rankdown history of The Mavericks.

I'm not sure why we should have a separate category for Texas and the rest of the United States without broadening the sort of country that is represented. As far as the songs themselves go I found the songs included to be pleasant discoveries, none of which I had been familiar with, but I'm always fond of ranking down a broader range  . |

It's the genres not the places of origin actually. Texas Country is usually different from Country music on US small market radio (that's what the "US" means). |

I suppose that makes sense if we are viewing Texas being representative of the "Western" in the country and western tradition, but I have always been irked by the provincial and chauvinistic attitude of many Texans I have known.

I've also had to put everything Pulse on the back burner. In the middle of a move and have to have my place empty + cleaned by this week. So yeah, I'd maybe have time Thursday or Friday night 🌺CountryLineDancer to do this if you're willing to give us the extra time? Through the weekend would be great actually lol. |

The only thing is that I am in Europe from September 3 to September 30, and I won't be bringing my laptop, so the reveal is likely to be delayed till the end of the month (or I could try doing some reveal with my cellphone). Anyways, I'd rather have more participants than rushing with a small number of lists, so the lists of .indulgecountry, Tim , and LBTrocks would be waited! |
