This is the saddest outcome for a rankdown I've seen in awhile. It's literally my top 2 in the reverse order, but still.... "Sparrow" absolutely deserved to bring home the gold here. It's easily the best thing she's done and one of the best country songs period of the past couple years. I'm glad it was close in the end, but... damn.

They really try to tie everything to stone in Stone lmao. The lyrics are really touching and I imagine the low ranks mainly come from music standpoint.
Hang In There Girl is just there. A good album opener but not worthy above Stone.
Title track is quite intense. Love how Ashley sings this.
Martha Divine rocks. I think it is a single material but not just after One Night Standards. She needs a more concrete hit before launching this badass tune.
One Night Standards is okay, but I would rather see Sparrow win out of these two. The melody of the latter is better than the former, and screams radio hit.

“Stone” is a song that hits really close to home and much like the first time I heard it still stops me in my tracks. I’ve always considered this to be one of the top 5 songs from the album, so I’m a bit disappointed it wasn’t able to make it in there. “Hang In There Girl” has always seemed to be one of the more polarizing songs on the album, but I think it would’ve made for a solid choice as a second single. Speaking of, there’s no denying that “Martha Divine” is a jam and I can understand them wanting to release it considering it’s a fan favorite. It was a bold and risky choice that unfortunately didn’t quite pay off and likely derailed any momentum she had radio wise going into this era. I echo the sentiments of everyone that was hoping to see “Sparrow” squeak out a win as I think it’s the standout song on the album. It’s remained my favorite song from it and I’ve long thought it was going to be a career song for her, so it’s disappointing to see that it’s going to remain an album track. “One Night Standards” is great as well and is very much a deserving winner, but I think single bias likely factored into its win here. Thanks again castleoblivion26 !

She's come a long way since this album. I still haven't ranked the Elsebound record -- I shall get to that asap -- so not sure how she sounded on that one, but there is a NOTICEABLE improvement in her vocals comparing these solo songs from her indie record from way back to the stuff she's put out in the last 5 years. There just feels like something a bit 'off' with her delivery in all of these compared to the woman who murdered songs like "Girl Goin' Nowhere" and "Sparrow." She's truly come a long way and it shows.

I definitely agree with this statement because her vocals were a bit rough to listen to on these early songs and was the reason they ended up on the lower end of my list. I think they all have a lot of promise though and would be interesting to hear how they'd sound now if she re-recorded them now Interestingly enough none of the early songs made the top 5! Find out which is #1 tomorrow night!

I enjoyed this soooooo much more than the one on Patty's Mountain Soul II album recently! Leslie Jordan was able to give the song the perfect amount of camp that it needed to be effective.

I 100% agree with this. While I do enjoy Patty's version, hers doesn't touch this one because of Leslie's enthusiasm while performing it really elevates this and both Ashley and Charlie sound fantastic. I wasn't sure how this one would do but I am really happy it made it to the top 4! As for the Final 3 I'm gonna wait a little so you can finish reveals for George and Carrie. One thing I will say about the final three is they are all really close in points and they ran away with this, look at the final points for them: #3 - 29 Points #2 - 26 Points #1 - 24 Points Any predictions with how this is gonna end?

I think this is Caylee Hammack's to lose, with B&D at #2!
Edit: I guess Caylee Hammack is in two of these. The one from her album is the one that's going to win, lol. "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" ain't it!

Mean Something has to win this. It's an amazing collaboration, and definitely my favourite song by Caylee Hammack.

The remaining two songs are my #3 and #4 so I would be glad if either wins. Edit: #4 and #5 because I forgot I added Workin' On A Building in this rankdown.

Yeahhh!!! Very happy that my vote indeed helped the victory of Mean Something. It's a beautiful tune, and hopefully it will do well in my to-be-hosted Caylee Hammack RD.
Fooled Around and Fell In Love is not a bad song, but I want a little more things to happen in the chorus. Still, while I usually find the collaboration of 5+ singers to be a little messy, these 6 were sounding well both as individuals and as a harmony in this song.

Had some curiosity spin to new Shenandoah's album. Turns out I didn't like the vocalist at all. The lyrics in If Only are also quite unoriginal. This version of Working On A Building is quite good (hence why I suggested this song in the first place, lol) Thought Leslie Jordan not being a vocalist would hinder its chance here but I guess other parts made up for it? On the other hand this version of You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone is a highlight in Reboot. They have great vocal chemistry, and the production gives waremth that it deserves. Technically these top two also have Tenille Townes in them lol. I like her vocal less in Mean Something.
