Who do you guys think is going #1 on Monday? It should be a close race between Up and LTDO (I mean these were the 2 biggest songs performed at the Grammys), but I think Up will take it due to the discount. My gut also tells me that Dynamite will be very close to the Top 10 (assuming 56k sales), and DSN will re-enter in the Top 25 and get a 53rd week after all.

I'm loving Lana's new album specially the second half where she goes for a more folkie sound. However I still cant get thru White Dress, her voice in that song is too irritating for me. I hope it can grow with time.

A little late but eew at some statements regarding positions, it is a fact that a lot of people and fans like the album (without lying to themselves), if you don't like maybe you should shut up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also pov is cure n all but safety net, nasty or worst behavior would have been better in MY opinion

^It definitely explains why the first two have been the only ones that have managed to chart in the Global 200 so far.

There are songs on that list that haven't even charted on the Hot 100. It further proves that chart runs and longevity are 2 different things. The songs chart run measures the popularity of the songs only during its first year (half a year) but what happens afterwards, this method fails to tell us. There are songs that surge to huge peaks because of cultural events, dance challenges, memes ... Once that event passes, the popularity quickly dies. Charts are great to measure how big of a hit a song was during its release, but that's it. There are bigger Hits & bigger songs. Different things. I won't say which one is better. Everyone knows. I posted some examples regarding this on TOTC discord 2 months ago: {Spoiler} It is hard to measure how popular a song has been after it's chart run for older songs, nowadays we have song consumtion in the Digital age. But here are obvious examples: - Journey has 3 songs that were bigger hits than "Dont Stop Believin' ". This is one of the songs with the biggest longevity EVER. Despite being released in 1981, it has 7M+ digital downloads (reported in 2017 by Billboard) + it sold 1.5M song units last year. - "Bohemian Rhapsody" is Queen's third biggest hit. i won't waste time for this one. - "Hotel California" is the 3rd biggest hit of Eagles...
Thanks to song consumption these examples are easier. I will compare songs that are released in the same time period. - Rihanna's biggest hit is "We Found Love", her biggest song is "Love The Way You Lie" (Umbrella is iffy, but anyways LTWYL is 13xP, WFL is 11xP) - Post Malone: "Goodbyes" is bigger hit than "Congratulations". "Congratulations" is 11xP, "Goodbyes WHO ?" (Post Malone was pretty unknown back then , now he is the biggest superstar, charts can't take that into account). + maybe multiplier are crazy - Katy Perry: "E.T." is bigger hit than both "Firework" & "California Gurls". As songs overall Firework > CG >E.T. Firework is at 13xP.

I'd argue that the After Hours era is bigger, and that Folklore as an album is, too, but yeah, Pop Smoke's album was, and probably will be the biggest posthumous release era. What a shame that he passed. Imo he seriously had the potential to replace Drake. After Hours has moreso become the "Blinding Lights" era imo. It has literally been above all the other singles throughout their entire runs, and at this point I think people will just universally think of mainly just that song when looking back at that era for the most part. Pop Smoke's album has about 5 singles that are well known hits within the same caliber, the longevity easily beats every 2020 album (it's still #2 after 8 months), and culturally Pop's album felt like the biggest moment. Folklore was done after like 4 months so.... mainly her fault for only pushing 1 single and releasing another album entirely soon after. I don't really get the point about After Hours when two other songs outpeaked everything from Pop Smoke's album And Folklore on the other hand was a really big deal for Taylor, and it likely set the trajectory for the rest of her mainstream career and really helped in promoting the artists featured on the album

To me, After Hours is the biggest album of 2020. Let's be honest, in 2037, most of us will remember 2020 as the year of AH/Blinding Lights, while Pop Smoke's album and Folklore will have been mostly forgotten.
I mean, if I asked what do you remember 2004 for, most of you will say Confessions/Yeah!

34+35 peaked at #2 before the remix even came out and re-peaked when the remix video came out. She didn't need names attached to it to peak that high, y'all say anything on here. And even if the remix did help her peak higher who cares the song would of been a huge hit regardless, not to mention the lead debuted at #1. Acting like 34+35 is only a hit because of the features is garbage. No it did not. YOU'RE the one that's lost. It peaked at #8 previously until the doja/meg remix, and then once again re-peaked at #2 after the video. Literally NO one said it needed features to become a hit, all that was said is that it wouldn't have went top 5 without the remix bc it's streams were steady, if not slowly falling as radio slowly built up. The whole point is if she chose another single like motive, it prolly would've done better chart wise. The song was not nearly as good as some of the other songs on the album and most people can agree with that. any questions?

I'm not saying Pop Smoke's songs were some huge smashes, but I'd argue For the Night/The Woo/What You Know/Mood Swings definitely felt bigger overall outside of a peak and could easily go down more memorable. Folklore had zero mainstream hits in a sense, and if you weren't a Taylor fan the era was definitely something that could've completely missed your radar. She'll always sell albums off her fanbase. Pop Smoke's album was just all around consistent in hits, success, and cultural discussion. It also is simply quite put is going to move more album units than folklore & After Hours. Taylor just had a huge night at the biggest award show in music, Weeknd just performed for the entire country a month ago, and yet Pop's album is still outcharting them in HDD's recent album chart.

Who is most of us? The only thing anyone will associate with After Hours is Blinding Lights. Blinding Lights was the biggest moment of 2020. You're just associating After Hours with that because Blinding Lights is a single off After Hours but After Hours wasn't the biggest 2020 album on the Billboard, HDD or Rolling Stone year-end charts so how was it the biggest album of the year? It wasn't even close. HDD's year-end albums:3. Pop Smoke - Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon | 2, 198, 000 units 4. The Weeknd - After Hours | 2,032, 000 units That's with the Weeknd having the much bigger hit, a 4-month headstart and a much bigger debut week than Pop Smoke. Billboard's year-end albums:7. Pop Smoke - Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon 8. After Hours - The Weeknd Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon: 35/37 weeks in the Billboard 200 top 10. After Hours: 23 (possibly 24)/52 weeks in the Billboard 200 top 10. Lil Baby's My Turn, Post Malone's Hollywood's Bleeding and Juice WRLD's Legends Never Die also spent more weeks in the Billboard 200 top 10 than After Hours. Rolling Stone Charts' year-end albums3. Pop Smoke - Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon | 2M units 4. The Weeknd - After Hours | 1.9M units Pop Smoke's album will move more units and will accumulate more inverse points over time because it'll be charting higher and better, lol. So yeah, years down the line, when most people think of the After Hours era, the thing that'll come to their minds will be how much of a monster hit Blinding Lights was and how the Weeknd got snubbed by the Grammys. The better-performing/selling album will go to Pop Smoke.

The whole point is it wasnt going to go top 5 without the remix, and maybe 15-20% of that is from the remix. My entire point is that the remix is what allowed it to peak as high as it did and she could've put up better numbers than this if she instead chose a better single instead of this one. The general public and fans alike have both said that they don't think it should've been the single and a decent amount of ppl just dont think its a good song. That's debatable but its undeniable that the album tracks are far better

Unless up starts collapsing in radio and decreasing, it's prolly not happening next week. Up is now ahead in sales & streams , and LTDO wont have the necessary radio to offset those differences. This is assuming LTDO continues to decline in streams and sales as it has been from the last 2 days

This is assuming LTDO continues to decline in streams and sales as it has been from the last 2 days I don't know how you could say that when Talk of the Charts, while still having Up as the favorite to go #1 on Monday, also clarified that Leave the Door Open and Driver's License aren't that far behind and could also be #1 as well. That means, whatever lead Up has on streams/sales isn't nearly enough and the radio gains for Leave the Door Open are substantial enough to make up whatever gap in points there may be. It's important to note that while the tracking week for streams/sales ended on Thursday, the tracking week for radio ends on Sunday so Leave the Door Open still has 2 more days to cover up the lead Up has with chart points from radio. Up has already peaked on Rhythmic radio. It's currently #2 on Urban radio and once it peaks there, it'll get dropped for another song as well. That's audience impressions being lost from 2 radio formats and it isn't doing nearly well enough on Pop radio to cover those losses. Next week is the only week Up has to go #1. If it doesn't, that's it. Leave the Door Open will most definitely be #1 the following week and it's gaining so much on radio and is stable on sales on streaming so it's points will only increase from there. I still think Up could go #1 this week but I'm not as sure as I was before because I didn't know points between all 3 songs would be still be this close this far into the tracking week.

What is this supposed to prove yall rly so insecure lmaooo. That's debatable but its undeniable that the album tracks are far better Girl, you're wrong. End of story.

He’ll probably have half the sales and half the streaming for the chart coming in two weeks.

^ he won't and he didn't get much of a boost from the Grammys. He's been pretty stable on sales and streams and he's gaining rapidly on radio.

^Oops. I somehow didn't copy it. Anyway, it would guess WYKBL probably has a one week window to be #1 in Radio Songs. There are a lot of ifs involved.
