I'm working on my submission and will get it in soon. I'm sorry but as much as I love Jeffrey Osborne and Anita Baker, these are two of their weakest singles. How they hit #1 with these two milk duds when ALL of their other incredibly superior songs didn't, I don't get. This is Osbornes only #1 song and Baker only had two. SMDH. But again, these songs. I've seen better....

Someone mentioned this might be a blood bath. I am filing my nails now.... See you for the results. Thank you for the Jody Watley shout outs. She was my 2nd favorite for years until Whitney took over...

I had a couple straggler songs I didn't know. I was pretty sure that no one could come close to my ranking for Billy Ocean. I was wrong. We've got a three-way race for last place.

So...it's sad to see the quality of hits dip as I get older, but there are some real gems here. Oh...and I learned that, outside of You Are My Lady (one of my OBSESSIONS as a kid and I always thought it was kinda sad/wistful for some reason) and Rock Me Tonight, I REALLY have no use for Freddie Jackson. Like...how do you go from those songs to the other songs of his that have popped up on these rank downs and more importantly, how were these even hits?! Also...OMG...I was talking about Girlfriend by Pebbles the Scammer in a PM thread because it randomly popped up on my iTunes and I started laughing at The Deele's dramatic-ass entrance. I can imagine them wearing pink Victorian ruffles and holding eye masks or something. SO campy and flamboyant. Y'all, I am high and I was playing Love Is The Power by Teddy Penderassdown the whole time and rocking with my eyes closed, thinking it was Joy. Why couldn't THAT song have been the hit instead? Also, I forgot about Fishnet until that hook dropped and I was transported to my 8 year old nasty ass singing that song all the damn time. They call me Loosey 'cuz I'm so loose. I forgot about this song too, but I remembered the rap. Totally forgot that was Roxanne Shante. Meanwhile, Stevie's out here getting hits for breathin'!

Got a couple of extras from this British superstar. His blockbuster album Faith also saw great success in urban markets, topping the soul albums chart and producing 5 Top 40 soul singles. Three of those singles reached the Top 10, with one hitting #1 (and we'll get to that song in this rankdown). Up first is one of those Top 10 soul hits, peaking at #6. It was also one of his 4 #1s on the Hot 100 from Faith.
Father Figure - George Michael
Next, another #1 on the Hot 100 from Faith. Co-produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, it peaked at #8 on the soul chart. The music video was choreographed by Paula Abdul.
Monkey - George Michael

In the meantime, you can go ahead and make some predictions.
Which songs do you think will make the top 5?
Which songs do you think will make the bottom 5?
Which song will have the highest standard deviation?
Which song will have the lowest standard deviation?
