"Roses are Red" is one I was barely familiar with, but since listening for this rankdown I've heard it on Sirius 2-3 times lol.
Anyway I am bored and as we break between the next reveals, I figured I'd do a rankdown of my favorites from the extras given in the thread:
22. "(It's Just) The Way That You Love Me" 21. "Ain't No Half Steppin" 20. "Going Back to Cali" 19. "Knocked Out" 18. "Parents Just Don't Understand" 17. "Don't Believe the Hype" 16. "Rocket 2 U" 15. "Monkey" 14. "It Takes Two" 13. "Supersonic" 12. "Shake Your Thang" 11. "Some Kind of Lover" 10. "Pink Cadillac" 9. "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" 8. "Pump up the Volume" 7. "Alphabet St" 6. "Make It Real" 5. "If It Isn't Love" 4. "Two Occasions" 3. "Father Figure" 2. "Push It" 1. "Piano in the Dark"
I love all of these! That would have been a solid group of #1s on its own. The other extras I am either not familiar enough with, or don't love.

I'm sure someone has some misguided warm fuzzies about this song. I on the other hand was WTF?!?! LEAVE the countdown then if your going to disrespect The Boys! I recently watched an "Unsung" episode on them and may be in my emotions. lol

Today's extra was the first charted single by this group from NYC that helped put the Uptown label on the map, peaking at #4 soul.

I can't believe that Freddie Jackson lasted that long when there are gems like Dial My Heart on the countdown. Such nostalgia for that latter song. I was obsessed with it as a kid. I am SHOCKED Al. B Weird Voices is out this early, though. I figured he would be Top 10 or something, LOL. As for Roses Are Red...that was one of the songs i couldn't even get through. Never heard that song growing up and couldn't take one listen of it now.

"Roses Are Red" is definitely a Sirius hit. If I'm listening to the Throwback Jams channel for any length of time, I usually hear it. The Al B Sure song deserves better than y'all.

Don't cry too much over "Off On Your Own". "Nite and Day" is still in--that's what's important here

It's funny "Nite and Day" and "Two Occasions" are here, considering the similarity of the two lyrically (that's not a knock as you'll see both did well with me). I then think about how this same year also brought us "Seasons Change" by Expose, so "Two Occasions" ultimately sort of combines the two since it has "night and day" in it as well as goes through the seasons.

I'm doing well so far (let's hope today's set doesn't jinx this, lol). Only one top 20 loss - Roses Are Red is a forever bop, argue with the wall! I will say that I had never heard that short string intro before until working on this rankdown and it was kind of jarring. It doesn't match with the rest of the song and isn't grand enough on its own to justify being there.

This has to be the best I've ever done in a rankdown in terms of my rankings being fairly close to the results. I never do this well lol.

WAKE UPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! WAAAAAAAAAAAAKE UUUUUUUUUUUUP! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP! WAKE UUUUUUUUUUUUP!
Please. Wake up.The next reveal has the 2nd highest SD. Nine people will lose a bottom 5. Only three of you will lose a Top 10...but two of those are #2s. 👀 DAMMITTTTTTTTTT I knew I was prolly speaking too soon. Da Butt is literally the first song I remember hearing as a kid. I mean, I'm sure I heard plenty of music before then, but that's the song that just stuck out crystal clear in my mind. Still have memories of seeing it on some weekend mix show or sth on tv and wiggling my six year old butt for my LIFE, lmao.

"Nice N' Slow" sounds like an album track, not a single. The R&B panel was just sending any ole Freddie Jackson song to #1 back then.
