"Montero" already dropping a bit on streaming and lagging on radio. "Peaches" is way too early on it's run to predict.
But I think Queen "drivers license" will remain unbothered by those two.

I'm just asking will it, I'm really hoping you're right about drivers license even though it's looking out of sight too.

If Peaches or Montero wind being the top song of 2021, will Bieber or LNX be the only ones other than The Beatles and George Michael with multiple year end chart toppers? Yes. Paul McCartney also got a Year-End #1 with Wings in 1976 ("Silly Love Songs"), so you could say he currently holds the record with three Year-End chart toppers (albeit under different groups).

That should have went to December 1963, which in my opinion, was the Uptown Funk/Blinding Lights of its time. To me, December 1963 was the biggest song of the 1970s.

That should have went to December 1963, which in my opinion, was the Uptown Funk/Blinding Lights of its time. To me, December 1963 was the biggest song of the 1970s. Only if you include "December 1963"'s second chart run in 1994. Originally it spent 3 weeks at number one, 6 weeks in the top ten, 15 weeks in the top 40, and 27 weeks on the Hot 100 (very impressive for the time). In '94 the remix peaked at 14 and had another 27 week run, for a total of 54 weeks. But in 1976 there were several other songs that performed similarly or better (Rod Stewart's "Tonight's The Night" spent 8 weeks on top, the longest reign of the decade at that point, 11 weeks top ten, 17 weeks top 40, and 23 weeks on the Hot 100. Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music" also had 3 weeks at number one, 10 weeks top ten, 18 weeks top 40, and 25 weeks Hot 100. "Silly Love Songs" had 5 weeks on top, 11 weeks top ten, 15 weeks top 40, and 19 Hot 100. You also had one week number ones "A Fifth Of Beethoven" and "Love Machine" outlasting "December 1963" with 28 weeks on the Hot 100). Also, because this was back before recurrency rules, "December 1963" spent its last 4 weeks on the Hot 100 in the 90s, so it wasn't racking up a ton of points by the end.

Btw, is this Billie Eilish's second #1 on Billboard Mainstream top 40? Yup, second after "bad guy". Only her third top 10 on that format ("everything i wanted" also reached top 10).

Can we please start putting the chart lists in spoilers? Itβs not hard and makes it much more pleasant to scroll through It's been brought up many times, and although I agree with you, surprisingly it seems that the majority of users prefer scrolling through the long lists, and the posters of the lists have held hard in not putting spoilers, so unless that changes, it's just something we have to live with.

It's all the more surprising given its low callout scores. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about it because I actually love the song, but it probably shouldn't be there, and somewhat surprising that on the other end, drivers license, which has the highest callouts, is declining, despite being a newer song. I guess callouts don't always dictate radio performance, and Billie's label must have really pushed TIA hard!

It's been going on for a few years now, but labels are heavily influencing #1 runs on CHR. Hardly anything is actually allowed to naturally peak at #2. And then the minute it goes #1 it starts posting monumental drops.

Chris Brown's 'Go Crazy' Breaks 'No Guidance' No. 1 Record on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart By Trevor Anderson 4/7/2021 Click to copy www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9552802/chris-brown-record-number-1-rb-hip-hop-airplay-chart/Just a year after Brown's own 'Guidance' set a record for most weeks atop the chart, 'Crazy' rewrites the mark. Barely a year after Chris Brown broke the record for the longest running No. 1 song on Billboardβs R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, the proven radio hitmaker surpasses his own mark as βGo Crazy,β his collaboration with Young Thug, posts a 28th week at No. 1 to surpass the 27-week reign of the chartβs previous record holder βNo Guidance,β featuring Drake. The record-breaking moment for βGo Crazyβ comes on the chart dated April 10, where the song retains its status as the most-heard track on R&B/hip-hop radio. The collaborative single registered 19.9 million in audience impressions in the week ending April 4, according to MRC Data, effectively even with its count from the prior week. Brown had already been assured of claiming first and second place on the all-time leaderboard since βGo Crazyβ outlasted the 23-week domination of Miguelβs βAdornβ in 2013-14 last month. Now, with the new order established, hereβs a look at the songs with the most weeks at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart since its debut in 1992: 28, βGo Crazy,β Chris Brown and Young Thug, 2020-21 27, βNo Guidance,β Chris Brown featuring Drake, 2019-20 23, βAdorn,β Miguel, 2012-13 16, βBooβd Up,β Ella Mai, 2018 15, βBe Without You,β Mary J. Blige, 2006 15, βHotline Bling,β Drake, 2015-16 14, βWe Belong Together,β Mariah Carey, 2005 14, βBlame It,β Jamie Foxx featuring T-Pain, 2009 14, βPretty Wings,β Maxwell, 2009 14, βHold On Weβre Going Home,β Drake featuring Majid Jordan, 2013-14 βGo Crazy,β the first single from Brown and Young Thugβs joint mixtape, Slime & B, began its unprecedented command of the chart on the list dated Aug. 22, 2019. Since the closing weeks of summer, it only stepped aside for Drakeβs βLaugh Now Cry Later,β featuring Lil Durk, for six weeks last September β October. (βNo Guidance,β meanwhile, logged all 27 weeks consecutively, ensuring Brown claims that record, too.) That stretch lies in a time where many major hits have extended shelf lives at radio, amid the COVID-19 pandemic that has forced shifts in radio and artist habits to some benefit for songs such as βGo Crazy.β Budgets for radio stations' audience research have shrunk, according to industry sources, arming programmers with less measurable data and perhaps encouraging them to remain with proven hits instead of taking chances on newer unproven titles. Plus, a lack of many major releases by other A-list artists in the past year has reduced competition on airwaves for the highest tier of superstar acts. Still, thanks to βNo Guidanceβ and βGo Crazy,β Brown has embarked one of the radio formatβs most successful campaigns in its nearly three-decade existence. In the 86 weeks since βGuidanceβ reached No. 1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay in August 2019, Brown has led the list for 55 frames. On its own, that sum alone would make him the artist with the fourth-most career weeks in the top slot, behind Drake (161), Usher (68) and Alicia Keys (58), though Brown indeed has seven other champs to combine for a grand total of 96 weeks at No. 1. Beyond its R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay triumphs, βGo Crazyβ has also reinvigorated or established Brown in the highest rungs of other formats, too. The single became his second No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in December 2020, after βNo Guidance,β as he makes inroads to win over the adult-leaning sector of programmers and listeners in the R&B space. On Rhythmic Airplay, meanwhile, βGo Crazy,β perhaps surprisingly, clocked just one week at No. 1, but has maintained dizzying longevity: 41 weeks (and counting) in the top 10 β yet another record for the Brown β Young Thug collaboration. Pop radio, though, has been the scene of a prominent reversal, as βGo Crazyβ broke a pattern of moderate reception to 16 straight Brown singles in the past nine years. When the track rallied to No. 3 on Pop Airplay in February, it marked Brownβs first top 10 since βDonβt Wake Me Upβ in 2012 and his best showing since βForeverβ spent five weeks on top in 2008. Flanked by heavy support from the pop, rhythmic and R&B/hip-hop sectors, βGo Crazyβ also returned Brown to No. 1 on the all-genre Radio Songs chart for the first time since βForever.β It also set a new personal best β its eight weeks passed βRun It!β and its seven frames for the most by any song of Brownβs career.

And to think before 2019 the top 3 consisted of the absolute classics "Adorn", "Boo'd Up", and "Be Without You"...
Why this man's disposable and utterly generic tunes keep breaking records is beyond me. He really was on his way out to obscurity before Lil Dicky revived his career thanks to that disgusting "Freaky Friday" song, and the continuous industry support didn't help matters at all. Gross.

Honestly, No Guidance ans Go Crazy are really good. Def 4/5s for me. Shame he of all people was the one that made them, otherwise I'd listen to them so much more.

"No Guidance" has a solid production, but the sleazy lyrics and attitude throughout do turn me off significantly (not helped by the artist attached, of course). And it goes on for way too long. I will agree with you on "Go Crazy", though. There are some wonderful saxophone covers online that show just how great the melodies and production are. And I admit my bias took over here, because I'm sure if Ne-Yo was singing it instead, I wouldn't be calling it derivative at all. My bad.

But the thing is, we are ALLOWED to feel what we feel towards Chris Brown, after all he has done and her attitude towards people and women in general (dunno if he had been able to work for his behavior after the bipolar diagnosis though)

He's definitely seen a commercial resurgence since 2018. He has scored at least 1 hit every year since then. Freaky Friday (2018) No Guidance (2019) Go Crazy (2020) It's still left to be seen if he'll score another hit this year but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he does.

No Guidance was really a big hit in the summer of 2019. Had there not been an Old Town Road, No Guidance would have probably been another Drake #1 debut. However, No Guidance also had the longevity that most other Drake songs didn't, evidenced by the fact that it spent 27 weeks at #1 on that chart, and was a factor long after the summer of 2019.

I donβt want to see anyone as incredibly talented as H.E.R. work with trash like Chris Brown. I donβt care how well she performs on the song itself, she should not be making music with someone like him, who has a lengthy history of abusing women that is very public knowledge at this point. Itβs one thing when other men validate his awful behavior by working with him, but itβs another thing entirely when women do the same. They should really know better.

Itβs one thing when other men validate his awful behavior by working with him, but itβs another thing entirely when women do the same. They should really know better. Unfortunately, it runs rampant. The biggest women in R&B all have collabed with him (H.E.R., JhenΓ©, Summer Walker, Tinashe...), so nowadays his fanbase has a plethora of strawmen to invalidate very valid crticisms made towards him (since he also has backing from people outside of the hip-hop/r&b scene). That's why he's been so succesful for that long.
They should know better.
