Leave the Door Open and Montero seem to be very likely #1 contenders. After Up starts to lose ground, I could easily see those two going head to head for some time it’s not really ltdo. It’s more like peaches and montero

Why almost a day early? Is she inspired by Selena choosing random days to release?

Why almost a day early? Is she inspired by Selena choosing random days to release? Both are signed to Interscope, so there's that

I can tell this might be an upbeat, summery song. Let's see if it'll have the same success as DL.

are there any big releases coming on Friday? they probably want to have a jumpstart on going viral / growing streams by releasing on Thursday morning, a la "Lose You To Love Me".

That's what I was thinking too. I'm sure it'll be fine too because it'll get more exposure with new music playlists on Friday anyway.

Don't know if Deja Vu is going to be as big as DL was. DL got huge from the love triangle that took TikTok by storm; this doesn't quite look like it will have that same pull. Maybe another top 10 debut on the momentum from the single prior, but I'm not sure about #1.

I’m betting on top 5 for deja vu. Maybe even top 3 but it won’t have as much longevity or as much success as DL had.

Lil Nas X made a children’s book lol, his audience is definitely full of kids. And to say he is not mocking Christians is just ignorant.

And to say he is not mocking Christians is just ignorant. Considering the amount of times Christians have mocked gay people, I honestly don't care how they feel.

Listen I'm all for him doing his thing but the Satan shoes is a bit much for me, like deadass human blood.... Work I guess. Also how is he gonna pop off about "Shouldn't have let your kids listen" when he himself performed it... In front of children. Also it's not like it's WAP or something, it's a child friendly song lol. Cardi B and City Girls aren't out here at the Kids Choice awards perfoming their songs at elementary schools. I don't get why the Satan shoes are too much for you, most of these big ass shoe brands have sweat shops where children make them for pennies. Idk why you are choosing to get outraged at one thing and not the other. If you own any Nikes you might as well toss them out because they were made with slave labor.

What's Next projected to leave the top 10 next week. Less than ideal but I'm glad we're finally getting some new entries in the top 10. There's gonna be 1 new top 10 entry next week and hopefully Olivia Rodrigo's new single enters the top 10 the week after that. Feels like we're gonna be getting a new major release pretty much every week henceforth. It's about damn time.
Then we'd just need Blinding Lights and Mood to leave so we have a fresh(er) top 10.

And I just find the whole thing uncomfortable, it seems edgy just for clout and I don't really like artists just blanatly promoting Satanic imagery, in an unironic or humorous way. And before you try and come for me, I'm not a white, straight, conservative christian, fan of "og rap", quite literally the opposite. It's just my opinion, I don't fuck with the shoes and what they stand for. That's all, more power to LNX though. If that's what he wants his brand to be, all for it. I just don't support this action.

The most talked about song of the week should be number 1 tbh Why? I mean, what if everyone is talking about how bad it is, or how it's actually offensive? Tbh drumming up controversy to help a song on the charts isn't really any different than web site sales and such. It's all ultimately stuff that is outside of the actual popularity of the song.

Yeah I think it's clear that he's trolling for exactly the kind of attention it's getting. I'm personally loving every second of it, but I get finding it annoying or extreme or unnecessary. I have no time or patience for people who are calling this the end of the American empire or whatever, but the in-between space where you seem to fall is perfectly valid, imo.

"Radioactive" was the same amount of spots away from 50 as "BL" is from 25.

Well...in the technical sense, next week is really week 70 for Blinding Lights since it already spent a week below #25 at Christmastime

The song currently has 1 week on the recurrent chart and 68 weeks on the Hot 100 for a current total of 69 weeks, next week would be the 70th total chart week. But whatever call it what you want.

The most talked about song of the week should be number 1 tbh Blinding Lights would have for sure went to #1 on the 1/2/2021 chart (the week it went recurrent) and the 1/9/2021 chart (when it returned at #3). In fact, I wonder how many weeks BL would have had at #1 if we did things this way.

I am confused now. What are you even saying? You made a post about where songs were in week 69 on the Hot 100, which is the week "BL" will be on next chart. I replied making an observation about it. Then you respond with something about it technically being week 70 next week, but...it won't be its 70th week. I also don't know what that has to do with "Radioactive" and its position in its 69th week on the Hot 100.

I posted chart positions for the 4 leaders for week 69 as I have done the last several weeks, to look a week ahead Pretty simple ....so let's just keep it that way. In the 'technical sense....' (your first post) there is nothing technical about it. Just straight numbers. Not interested in a semantics discussion. Insert whatever interpretation you want into what I posted -- that's fine. I apologize for the confusion

I apologize for the confusion I used the word technically because the drop off spot for the other songs on the list you posted is 50, whereas for "BL" its 25. So, even though "BL" is higher on the Hot 100 than those other things, it is technically as close or closer to dropping off than some of those other songs. That is a factual observation/statement centering on technicalities that your post prompted in my head.
