Don't know if Deja Vu is going to be as big as DL was. DL got huge from the love triangle that took TikTok by storm; this doesn't quite look like it will have that same pull. Maybe another top 10 debut on the momentum from the single prior, but I'm not sure about #1.

What's Next projected to leave the top 10 next week. Less than ideal but I'm glad we're finally getting some new entries in the top 10. There's gonna be 1 new top 10 entry next week and hopefully Olivia Rodrigo's new single enters the top 10 the week after that. Feels like we're gonna be getting a new major release pretty much every week henceforth. It's about damn time.

Then we'd just need Blinding Lights and Mood to leave so we have a fresh(er) top 10.

well for one, I actually don't own any nikes lol. And I just find the whole thing uncomfortable, it seems edgy just for clout and I don't really like artists just blanatly promoting Satanic imagery, in an unironic or humorous way.

Yeah I think it's clear that he's trolling for exactly the kind of attention it's getting. I'm personally loving every second of it, but I get finding it annoying or extreme or unnecessary.

I have no time or patience for people who are calling this the end of the American empire or whatever, but the in-between space where you seem to fall is perfectly valid, imo.

In a technical sense, "IY" was further away from falling off than "BL" since it just has to drop below 25. "Radioactive" was the same amount of spots away from 50 as "BL" is from 25.

Blinding Lights would have for sure went to #1 on the 1/2/2021 chart (the week it went recurrent) and the 1/9/2021 chart (when it returned at #3). In fact, I wonder how many weeks BL would have had at #1 if we did things this way.

I used the word technically because the drop off spot for the other songs on the list you posted is 50, whereas for "BL" its 25. So, even though "BL" is higher on the Hot 100 than those other things, it is technically as close or closer to dropping off than some of those other songs. That is a factual observation/statement centering on technicalities that your post prompted in my head.
