Lol at Biebs releasing another half-arsed project. 2 weeks after the album he has already put out another album divided in two EPs. Why he couldn't wait for next Easter to do a full gospel project instead? If he treats it like a non commercial mixtape or a βsoundcloudβ track, and there isnβt much of a promotional campaign behind it, then i donβt see any problem with any artist for that matter releasing as much content as they want. The problem i have with this however is the quality of the project. If itβs something thatβs thrown together as lazy as possible, is this really something that you wanna put out? |

To me, the digital sales record lost merit when sales quickly declined after Uptown Funk. UF spent 13 weeks at #1 on the digital sales chart in 2015, and has over 8 million digital sales. Closer has less than a third of UFβs digital sales total, and tied UF with 13 weeks at #1 on the digital sales chart in 2016. Despacito, which broke the record in 2017, has roughly 3 million digital sales. Old Town Road has roughly 2 million digital sales, and Dynamite roughly 1.5 million digital sales.
I just cannot view the digital sales runs of Closer, Despacito, OTR, or Dynamite with the same merit as UF.

I respect the Armys being buying the music week after week, but the fact that the same people are buying the music takes away the record's merit It's not always the same people buying. There are funders who act sort of like bankers each week but the people donating and receiving the donations to purchase aren't the same group all the time. Those funders are always the same each week. Donors are usually different. Some people buy every week but most are just fans who happen to be on twitter at the time those funders are giving out money to buy and just happen to see a tweet letting fans know funding is available. Many have received funding at some point in the past but it's really not the same group of people buying each week other than a few. |

Miley just posted this on IG and I am confused? There are numerous (almost countless) other women who have had albums hit 1B streams on Spotify. What am I missing here?? She's talking about longevity. Taylor, Gaga and her must be the only women to have 1B streams on albums from 2000's, 2010's and 2020's. |

I mean, no complaints - the song is a classic, but still... why? π It would be amazing if it got big enough to have a "Dreams"-like Hot 100 run, considering it was never released as a single originally and has never charted on the Hot 100 (not counting the Tavares version of course). There would be some chart justice for that song finally appearing. |

Hashtags/movements and justice would probably a trend this decade. So expect some unreleased or low peaking song to rechart in the future. That would be my dream! We already had albums by Mariah Carey, Madonna, and Janet Jackson topping the iTunes charts (#JusticeForGlitter), but fan support can only lead this far. Ideally, an underappreciated or low-peaking classic would get a revival thanks to TikTok, which is what has been happening lately with the likes of "Money Trees" and "Talking To The Moon". And after "Dreams", it seems age isn't a limit as long as the song can generate some challenge, so it's only a matter of time to have even more cases like it. β€ |

It's a big-ish deal because radio (main component that helped her previous three top 15 singles) has dropped it and the label has moved on to another single and it's still hitting a new peak position on streaming.
And it's Pulse; we love our pop ladies. You have been on this forum for over a year, it can't be surprising lol.
