thegreatdivine I thought Sunflower counts towards Hollywood's Bleeding for RIAA? I remember all of it units got swapped from the Spiderman Soundtrack to Hollywood's Bleeding when the album was released. I remember reading here and on HITS that all of its SPS was transferred to Post's album and it had a HUGE drop on the YTD chart.

I might be mistaken but I think for RIAA, it only changes the future units a song accumulates, so bulk of "Sunflower" units do not count for Hollywood's Bleeding.

I thought so as well, but I guess not. If Sunflower counted towards Hollywood's Bleeding, that would make it eligible for 5x Platinum certification. Since Hollywood's Bleeding was only certified 3x Platinum, I assume it isn't counting towards it. Also on the wikipedia page for Hollywood's Bleeding, Sunflower isn't listed as one of it's singles. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack album is certified 2x Platinum and it only managed that because Sunflower counts towards it instead.

I wonder why they updated all these certs now. Maybe this means something is coming soon? That's what I'm hoping for.

Random thought, but I was just listening to Slide by Calvin Harris/Frank Ocean and it feels like that song would have been a much bigger hit if it came out now. I didn't even realize it only peaked at 25, damn it deserved better. Calvin really needs to release a Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2.

I remember about a year ago Calvin remarked on Twitter how Slide is arguably more popular now than it was when it first came out.

And yes, with R&B coming back to the forefront, I think it's high time we finally get Vol. 2. Looking forward to the inevitable lead single featuring Giveon and Roddy Ricch.

I liked the Outside, Blame era and the One Kiss, Giant era of Calvin Harris but Funk Wav Bounces remains his best era. So many good songs: Slide, Feels, Heatstroke (underrated), The Weekend (SZA remix) and Prayers Up

I think Calvin has sort of given up on mainstream music. His last release with any kind of mainstream/radio appeal was that Weeknd collaboration but even then it was way too muted to really be a hit (and as it should have, it stalled).

From his IG I think he's quite content living on his farm from his royalties from the catalogue he built between his albums and his productions for other acts.

I wouldn't hate to get more non-Love Regenerator projects tho. Funk Wav II would be cool although he did tweet once, if I recall correctly, that he had no plans for that anytime soon.

Wow, I'm kinda wondering in what universe Congratulations is 11x platinum and Circles only 4x?!!! It must be undercertified or something. In fact, it's very surprising how high the top singles from Stoney have been certified compared to many of his other #1/top 5 hits. Sales have been on the decline since late 2016/2017, but that could only account for a small part of it, and streams have also (overall) been on the increase, so you'd think that would help counter-balance it. It would be interesting to see a breakdown sales/stream-wise for Congratulations vs. Circles.

downhill is a bit of an over exaggeration, especially for a pop producer. More than a decade into this career and he's still working with big popstars, he's just not on the charts. But he'll still have success in Europe

Apparently not. If you go to this link and click on "More Details" for Post Malone, you won't see Sunflower listed in the list of certified songs which count for him. Same with Ariana Grande. Bang Bang is meant to be her highest-certified song at 8x Platinum but despite her being a co-lead artist on the song, it isn't listed in her list. Same thing with Justin Bieber. He's credited as a co-lead artist on I Don't Care with Ed Sheeran. It's certified 2x Platinum but if you check his list, it doesn't count for him as well.
