Dynamite was cute, if Butter is as nice, i'll be happy for their success.

firefox I think you'd better just prepare for another BTS number one single. According to a media press release Butter is going to be in English. This is going to definitely go #1. Also, since BTS's company takes control of Scooter Braun's company with employees intact on May 7th this song will get full promotion to the same level Ariana and Bieber gets. Can you please have a link source for this being in English?

Dammit, I was hoping that week would be a good opportunity for Deja Vu to go to #1 with the release of Olivia's album that same day. Oh well.
Catch me mostly following the Rolling Stone charts this summer while BTS cleans up Billboard.

Based on the description it sounds like although it's a pop dance song it will have a bit of an R&B (or sub genre) vibe which is something BTS is actually really good at. I loved Dynamite for the feel good song it was when the world needed to be cheered up, but honestly it didn't show just how good and talented BTS is, especially for the 3 rappers. Hopefully Butter will show that better. I'm guessing we will probably see it performed on BBMAs.

She would have a better shot with a new track than DV (not that she would have any chance agains BTS' sales but still...) And regarding Billie...

Where do I bring up the remix? Right back at you along with a class in syntax I noted the remix is #5 on Spotify. You replied "the song" is the most streamed behind "Rockstar." That is true combining the original and remix, so what was your intent? My post was specifically about the remix. You need to go outside or something because I never even quoted your post

Interesting sound from the 50s/60s, we heard tracks that sounded like the 80s, 90s and even 2000s but now we get a really old sounding song but I feel there's definitely more to the song than this preview.

Hopefully Butter isn't as annoying as Dynamite I'm really hoping that BTS actually took part in the writing/production of Butter. The lyrics they write themselves have so much more depth and complexity. I honestly don't think they expected Dynamite to be as successful as it was. The song was intended to be a gift to cheer up their fans during COVID. I had a feeling that after seeing how well it did that they would do another English song, but one that does a better job of showing who they are and what they can do. I hope I'm right.

Which is why I think SYT will spend a second week at #1. not sure about that tbh. LTDO (while weak) is still pretty much stable, mostly thanks to the discount and radio. and like Enigma said, Billie might release her lead single or something on Friday. With Billie and BTS coming, all iβm saying is that hopefully SYT doesnβt get the Hotline Bling treatment (which is ironic because Abel himself blocked that song with The Hills).

A 'FUTURE HITS' thread would eliminate so many irrelevant posts to the current week H100 thread.
For an 8-wk #1, DL sure didn't have longevity. And it got the gift of a second wind with strong, relatively fast radio support - we know how slow radio has been to jump on out-of-the-box hits.
SYT (Remix) missing #1 would be a disappointment and a waste of a feature. I wonder what the radio % will be for the week. Would radio audiences even notice the difference until the 2nd verse? Radio relies on keep audiences from flipping stations. Because there's not some significant change in the track at the beginning, I don't see why radio would be encouraged to swap versions.

Most hits that stay at the top for more than 2 months fall from the Top 10 fast. OTR, Despacito, The Box, and many others fell out of the top 10 a month after they fell off the top.

By default doesn't this mean if radio had taken longer to support it, it could have had more longevity? Radio jumped on it fairly quick, but it also dropped it quickly. Look at how much longer "positions" held on in airplay despite not doing as well in streaming.

The longevity isn't a criticism - simply an observation. Radio picked it up and it to the top fast, but dropped it just as quickly. And, yes, songs like BL, Circles, etc. have skewed. Didn't The Box spend 20+ weeks in Top 10? Perhaps a better metric: How does 15 weeks compare with other 8-week+ No. 1s?
