While I thought Give It To Me Straight would be a solid follow-up single, I'm extremely excited for this. Please country radio, she deserves to be more than a one hit wonder!!!

Oh? I'm not surprised that she would be moving on to a new era, however I am a bit surprised that they would go with something else besides "Give It To Me Straight"! Especially because they just invested in a music video for it that came out like a week ago (that didn't exactly look low-budget to me, lol). That one seems to be going over pretty well with people too.
However I'm pumped to hear this!!! Bring it on!!!

I think it's pretty smart to capitalize on her breakthrough hit with a new era, but damn I wish she'd have tried "Give It To Me Straight," because that sounded like another big hit to me that I think would've moved the needle quite a bit. Excited for this one either way, because she's quickly become a huge new favorite.

"Give It to Me Straight" is currently climbing Billboard's Canada Country National Airplay chart and is doing really well (#30 after 3 weeks), so maybe it will be a US-single in the future. charts.bdsradio.com/bdsradiocharts/charts.aspx?formatid=36

Im so nervous to hear this... excited their pushing this in may instead of waiting. It’s about the right amount of time between singles — “Somebody Like That” will go recurrent on Mediabase the week of May 16th, so a week difference sounds good, especially since this song was released in January of 2020 lol. Sometimes All Access lists singles impacting before they’re sent to radio through Play MPE, because of label emails sent to radio people. I’m sure Pulse is very appreciative of that because it means we get scoops lol.

There's more personality in this song than "Somebody Like That." It's an upbeat track with distinct lyrics and a slight hint of 2000s country music. ETA: actually, sounds like a Jana Kramer song lol

I hope it sounds like a good Jana Kramer song at least lol. From what you’ve mentioned here, I’m now extra excited for the release.

www.allaccess.com/country/future-releasesAudio available in All Access now! I knew I would say this, but I LOVE this! This has a very strong chorus melody, catchy vibe, and distinct lyrics. I enjoy this as much her 3 other recent singles (Somebody Like That, Everybody Knows Every Body, and Give It To Me Straight) Great single choice, and I hope this is another hit for her and solidify her long-term success base in the US radio market.

On first listen I keep expecting this to turn into "One Big Country Song" lol... This is pleasant and safe, though I do prefer "Give It To Me Straight".
Hoping this can become country radio's summer 2022 jam! :kii:

This is a SMASH!!!! It's got way more distinctive personality than the majority of Tenille's output has had so far, which imo is exactly what she needs to do at this point to continue to set herself apart from the crowd.

I adore Tenille Arts and was so excited to hear this, I even logged into All Access to hear it! :O
This song sounds like a hit to me! Extremely radio friendly, yet distinct, and so catchy. I hope Tenille gets that summer smash with this one!!

Ughhh, I wanted to like this more.
It’s fine - but the production is SO loud and her voice has some harsh spots in the edit, which is sad to me because i loved her vocals on I Hate This. I’m not sure what they did to manipulate it, but it was unpleasant.
Ughhhh, i wish it was ‘One Bedroom Apartment’. I could see radio playing this, but it’s like a thumbs sideways for me.

This sounds like every other generic run of the mill song that doesn’t chart for other female artists, but that worked for her with “Somebody Like That”, so I wonder if she will be able to duplicate success here.
I’ll pass on this one. Very average, especially the “I could really use a little” repeating nonstop in the bridge.

First listen for some reason triggered a comparison to Sherrié Austin’s Never Been Kissed in terms of production. I think it was just specifically following the chorus, being able to hear some acoustic guitar and little bit of steel. Second listen had me wondering how I came up with that comparison. 🤡 I’m lying in bed with a fever and I’m gonna blame the fever. I dig the song enough. Hoping it leads to continued success.

Is radio aloud to play this even though it’s not out to the general public yet, what is the point of giving the song to radio to play if no one can stream or buy it. Is it like a “radio exclusive” kinda thing to make radio feel special or just a wait/timing thing?

Is it like a “radio exclusive” kinda thing to make radio feel special or just a wait/timing thing? I’d be very surprised if this wasn’t released to the public tomorrow (tonight midnight). It’s not uncommon for songs to be sent to radio a few days before they get released to the general public for purchase/streaming.

She said it wasn’t on Twitter, unless she was trolling LOL Well if it isn’t, I’m not sure why she’s waiting to release it. That’s a tactic I haven’t seen used when releasing new music in quite some time. It’s become obsolete in the streaming era to give radio exclusive access to the song first and it’s not like this will get a radio deal or any significant airplay for people to even hear this on the radio in the next couple weeks so why not release it to stream immediately?

Honestly I agree they should be releasing tonight, at the start of the week they changed all her banners and put the hashtag #backthenrightnow you would think that would be the lead up to the Thursday night release.. I guess I’m just confused by her label and what is happening behind the scenes...

Is radio aloud to play this even though it’s not out to the general public yet, what is the point of giving the song to radio to play if no one can stream or buy it. Used to happen often before the days of streaming and the early days of iTunes, but every once in a while this happens; a song released to radio before the public. The streaming/sales date should be next week (I would think). I think 19th & Grand is trying to capitalize on the success of "Somebody Like That" by giving programmers the next single immediately, and maybe let them get excited about it before the general public has a chance to hear it. There's still a sense in the music industry and radio to not let news out of the bag (before it has a chance to be announced officially), but that doesn't matter anymore really -- not with streaming, sales and the advent of full-on corporate programming. It doesn't matter if a single's announced before it's sent to radio or if a single is streamed before radio gets it. Radio will look at their metrics and decide on playing/converting singles based on that. To answer you, yes radio is allowed to play this, even though it hasn't been released digitally yet. Heck, I remember the days of songs like "Ain't What It Used to Be" by Megan Mullins and "Innocence" by Sarah Buxton reaching the top 30, without ever being on iTunes (Sarah's was put on there eventually).

This is much better than "Somebody Like That." Still nothing truly amazing or groundbreaking and Tenille Arts doesn't stand out to me really among a sea of very talented female country artists trying to make it, but I won't complain if it's a hit for her even though I'd rather see artists with better voices and more distinct material breakthrough instead. This song's pretty solid though and quite catchy. I would say it's a good choice for a follow-up hit too.

I love this song. I can’t wait til it officially is released. IMO Arts can definitely sing, I’m glad she’s finally getting recognized in the US. I hope this song goes to number 1. She is one of 3 favorite country music Canadian singers these days in music. The other two being MacKenzie Porter and Madison Kozak.
