I like “Half Of My Hometown” but that is no collaboration. It is Kelsea with Kenny singing background vocals, cus they’re both from Knoxville. It's still labelled Kelsea & Kenny so therefore it's a collaboration. That's like saying "One Beer" isn't a collaboration because Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson sing backing vocals. As far as I am concerned if a song is labelled artist 1 and artist 2 are part of a song then it is by definition a collaboration. I heard it on the radio yesterday and am wondering if there are 2 versions of the song? I didn't hear any background vocals from him at all. the only time I heard him was the last line of the song.

Eh, bigfan101 listed a bunch of other songs that are full-fledged duets between country artists and "Half of My Hometown" definitely doesn't fit with the rest of the group because Kenny is kept on BGV and only has 1 solo ad-lib near the end of the song as opposed to a full verse. Kenny is featured on the song, but it is not credited on the charts as Kelsea & Kenny because it is not a duet like the other examples given, so what stanches2318 said is pretty on-point actually. It's still labelled Kelsea & Kenny so therefore it's a collaboration. That's like saying "One Beer" isn't a collaboration because Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson sing backing vocals. Exactly. He's a bare minimum feature on the song. It would be like saying "Bring on the Rain" is a duet between Jo Dee Messina and Tim McGraw in the same way that "Does He Love You" is a duet between Reba McEntire and Linda Davis. Not the same thing, lmao. Anyway, I think that the duet w/ Matt Stell is surprisingly good despite me thinking both artists involved are average at best. That said, I do agree with bigfan101's initial sentiments that it certainly doesn't hold a candle to a lot of the big name collaborations that have been getting pumped out lately, which seems logical considering most of the duets that have been making a splash on radio recently are by much bigger names. "Over You Is You" might not make for a bad single option down the line, but it's definitely not something that would smash like we've seen a lot of other recent duets do.

You're missing the point and getting hung up on the term 'collaboration.' Yes, it is technically a collaboration, but it is not a duet like all the other songs listed.

12 new adds today! Her label is doing great getting her consistent adds each week, this is the best adds week she’s seen in a while though. Hope radio is getting ready to convert this harder lol I need it top 30! 😆

This is the follow-up single to "Give It To Me Straight" in Canadian radio, as expected. This pulled 9 adds this week, and showed up in New and Active section on the chart. Hopefully she can get her first #1 hit with this song in Canada!

Her album is out today and this was the other option for the lead single….and what I voted for. I think it was a big miss for her label. I think it could have been her ‘House That Built Me’ moment.

Thank you for sharing this. I like, "Back Then, Right Now," quite a bit but the song above is phenomenal. Thanks again.

This album is really good. “Girl To Girl” and “Breakup Songs” are my two favorites from the album.

I do think the label made the right call going for "Back Then Right Now" as the lead single as it has continued to do decently well week in and week out on the charts and listening to the album it was the most radio friendly option but I do think a lot of the songs could go to radio and be hits.
I do wish her music connected more with the general public, but I am glad it seems like radio is fully on board with her and I am happy she released this album regardless of how well this song was doing

Hope One Bedroom Apartment or Growing Old Young become singles at some point. They could be big moments for her.

How do y’all think this is performing so far? I know it recently went into the top 40 but am wondering if y’all think radio will take it to top 30 or beyond.

I have a hard time imagining this wouldn't receive great callouts, so this should be top 10 minimum when it's said and done. Probably will peak next Summer. Then she can send Growing Old Young to switch things up.

This really has grown to be one of my favourite singles of the year - Tenille is truly great, and even if she does not rise up to stardom a la Taylor/Miranda/Carrie, I hope she can have a Kelsea/Carly/Maren like career soon.

This seems to be having a great week, and if there is multiple recurrents on the next media base chart there will be some nice movement. Do y’all see this fully catching on next year? I hope it does.

It's moving about at the same rate that SLT was, so that's a good thing. I will say that radio letting SLT hit #1 even though it wasn't a huge standout hit that was a streaming/selling monster shows that radio is interested in her; especially since it wasn't powered by OTV either. I could see this one mirroring SLT's chart run baring that it has good callouts, cause radio seems to be on board with her. I do think for future singles she might need to try to get a more career type song, which imo would be "One Bedroom Apartment" or "Growing Old Young," both help show depth for her as an artist.

I wonder if they are going to move on from this - they released a new visualizer for Sweet Sixteen on YT.
To me, Breakup Songs with Calista Clark would be the play - get both her label and BMLG backing, because Ir’s Cause I Am is also not going to get much higher.

I think it’s a song that could really put her on the map if it connects.

It is important to note this song is eligible to go recurrent this upcoming Sunday on Mediabase since it has spent the last two weeks without a bullet, luckily it should hang in there as it has gained 24 spins since last Sunday.
That being said I don't feel great about this replicating "Somebody Like That" success as this is on Week 34 on Billboard and this is at #43 while "Somebody Like That" was at #28 on Billboard. I hope this can at least get a Top 30 finish but right now this song doesn't feel like it is doing much of anything and it doesn't help that Tenille Arts doesn't have much buzz to her.

I like this a little more than SLT honestly, but it's another rather faceless generic radio fodder type song and those are not going to put Tenille Arts on the map. She definitely doesn't have a particularly strong or interesting voice going for her, and she's got the obvious disadvantage of being a woman, so they need to be wise with what they do with her going forward. I vote they go the route of something like "One Bedroom Apartment" as Kanenrá:ke suggested above, because I think it has the potential to get people interested in her over another inoffensive uptempo.

I completely echo this. SLT sounded like a song you'd hear from a random amateur artist performing at one of the bars on Broadway, and I am still surprised it was a hit. This was a little better but I can't ever remember how it goes because it and she are completely uninteresting. I don't LOVE her either, but Lindsay Ell should get the success this girl is seeing. In any case, this flopping should shock no one.

I guess it shouldn't shock me but it does for me personally because I feel like Tenille Arts has star written all over her even if the general public isn't connecting with her music. Also imo both Lindsay Ell and Tenille Arts should be seeing a lot of success (even if both aren't that similar musically beyond being women as Tenille is more pop country and Lindsay Ell is more country rock imo).
