I'm rooting for this one nonetheless, but ever since the new year it feels like it's really been stuck in the mid thirties. I think it'd be a good idea to think about pulling this one and releasing One Bedroom Apartment.

I like Tenille and think she has a place in the format with more unique music. With a song like this, I can’t see it being a big hit. I would be super impressed with a top 20 finish.
I like the fact that Canadian country artists are breaking here. If they connect here as well, it really gives them an opportunity to be a star in their own right. She’s one I see building a nice career and really breaking in a couple years. She has Canada on her side already so I think it makes less pressure here.

Hi Guys, the building chart looks very healthy for this record. Big add at Iheart Women of Country and WSIX this week tells me that chain is solidly behind her. What do we think the chances are of another #1? Looks like they are dangerously close to top 30 and then the sky is the limit from there. These records take forever to move up the chart these days. I’m a big fan of Tenille and see no reason why she can’t compete with the likes of Carrie and Miranda and Kelsea. What do y’all think?

Unfortunately for yourself and I fans will buy anything Miranda or Carrie because of there name and not the quality of there music. That’s why artists like Arts won’t ever compete with them is cus she’s not a name sake like those two. I love Arts and I hope this does great. I hope her next single is her Apartment song from her new album. That’s mine and my Sisters favorite off the album. Her and Porter are my two favorite Canadian Country singers and they should be charting better with there solo music. They have great songs, sounds and voices. Good luck to Arts.

I know quality is well subjective, but I am really rolling my eyes at you saying Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood don't release quality music and their music is only as big as it is due to their names only. Also Miranda and Carrie aren't the only relevant females in country music just fyi. Anyways to answer the previous question from Henry (welcome to Pulse btw) there is next to 0% chance this hits #1. It is already at 39 weeks on the chart and even the most long chart runs to #1 didn't take this long (for comparison "Somebody Like That" was at #24 on Billboard 39 weeks in compared to this which is at #40). Best case scenario I feasibly see is a Top 30 finish. Yes this is gaining a bit more momentum right now, but it's still not doing amazing and it has just spent so much time in the #38 to #43 section on Billboard to make me feel good about it's chances of going any further.

Other thing to note here is that this song lost 100+ plays in Canada, and most likely to start descending the chart after 23 weeks peak at #12 as of this week. If they move on to the next single in Canada, it would make sense for them to give up on this in the US as well, as it has been kinda stalling for a few months now. While that was not the case with Somebody Like That (it was promoted in the US after peaking in Canada), considering that this song is on the chart almost 40 weeks in the US, I could see them moving on to the next single for both countries.

I think the sooner they drop this one the better. It’s not going to do much more. Go ahead and see if “apartment” will work.

I think they’re gonna go with the duet with Matt Stell since he doesn’t have a current charting single. I’d honestly prefer songs One Bedroom Apartment or Growing Old Young to be next over the duet. I do think they should just drop this though.

As much as I love Tenille's music and wanting her to succeed here in the US, I think they need to move on to One Bedroom Apartment for the next single. It would probably take about 30+ weeks for it to peak and because its a ballad, it would be better suited for the fall/winter months imo.

Thanks so much for the feedback and for the welcome into the forum. I do feel like the next single needs to be something that resonates far beyond just a tempo radio friendly track. Tenille is a real singer, and I hope whatever comes next will be something that showcases that talent. I don’t know if I would count this one out yet though. I think if they can get top 30 with After Midnite, then top 20 would be clearly in sight. There was a Hardy record that took forever that went to #1. Not saying this one will get there but I think it has a real shot at top 20 and then a new strategy put in place to peak the record and come with something special. What do you guys think about independent labels being successful in the modern music business. Does anyone know much about 19th and Grand or the people behind her? Remarkable how far they have come.

Im a fan of Tenille too and thinks she has a great voice but think she needs to be a bit more unique. Definitely agree that the next single needs to showcase her talent as well as her storytelling and relatability skills too. I have a feeling her team might be looking for a top 30 finish with this (Maybe top 25 max) but that’s not terrible! Independent labels are definitely becoming more successful in the modern music business but idt it changes the power or resources that the majors have over them. For me, I expect more of a grassroots and slow rise for Tenille rather than a huge visible mainstream kind of rise that major labels can pull off.

Is this starting to take off or are they maxing out?? I’m confused at the sudden interest 😂 what is happening??
I hope this tests soon and tests well. Testing may be its only way to make some true lasting traction.

Testing may be its only way to make some true lasting traction. I have a feeling they’re maxing it out this week. Looking above it on mediabase, with a song going recurrent, she can definitely pull off hitting the top 30 by Sunday which is what’s making believe they’re maxing it out this week. But at the same time it also got 4 new adds this week which is better than its gotten in a while so I’m not sure.

For me, this song is every bit as competitive as "Somebody Like That." The subject matter is also spot on for the world we are living in it feels like. I really believe in this song and hope they can take it top 10. I know it has been out a while, but I am hopeful with these new adds and momentum. She is everywhere, ACM, Billboard Awards, Iheart coming up and probably CMT Awards, not to mention her Juno Nomination for Album of the Year. Will be interesting to see what they come with next too. These last two songs put her on the map, but she needs a boost to become a true star.

I don't think it makes sense for this to be maxing out mainly due to where it is on the chart as I am pretty sure I have never seen a song max out when it's not even in the Top 30 on either chart.

You’re right I didn’t mean maxing, I meant giving it a final push to peak as I really don’t think this will go much higher than top 30 but of course I could be wrong.

Based on this week's Mediabase daily updates, it looks like this one is done.
