If the updates continue or even surge a little bit more like they usually do, heβs got a strong shot at making the Top 10 in just one week. If he stays like this and doesnβt surge, #12-13 is possible. Amazing.

And I'm free not to expand on my thoughts if I don't feel like it. We can go on about this forever! Take that leonagwen/Disco energy somewhere else. Do not ever fucking lump me into the same category as that. EVER.

I think I like this! The instrumental kind of reminds me of a more poppy version of Kelly's I Dare You from last year (also on Atlantic). Sounds to me like he's riffed on the hook of the below classic. Another "No Scrubs" situation.

The only reasons Shape Of You was popular is because of new music hype and the catchy tropical melody that sounds very similar to Cheap Thrills.
Anyways, Bad Habits is very mid. Not bad but not great.

I remember "drivers license" going Top 10 pretty fast. I fell down a freakin' rabbit hole and it's all your fault! Songs that entered the top 10 on week 2: Wings - Helen Wheels (16-10) Wings - Band On The Run (16-9) Elton John - Philadelphia Freedom (28-7) Elton John - Island Girl (17-7) Lionel Richie - Truly (17-8) Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You (23-9) Mariah Carey - Without You (30-10) Luther Vandross & Mariah Carey - Endless Love (18-9) Madonna - Secret (30-8) Lady Gaga - Born This Way - (19-6) Taylor Swift - Shake It Off - (15-10) Taylor Swift - Bad Blood - (14-10) Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do - (22-9) Taylor Swift & Brendon Urie - ME! (24-10) Songs that entered the top ten on week 3*: *NSYNC - Bye Bye Bye (35-17-10) Janet - All For You (27-14-8) *NSYNC - Pop (26-11-8) Katy Perry - California Gurls (23-14-10) Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (22-11-7) Justin Timberlake - Can't Fight the Feeling (22-11-7) Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber - I Don't Care (21-11-9) Olivia Rodrigo - Drivers License (30-19-10) *since 2000. There are far too many songs that were able to do this in the 70s-90s so I'm not listing those This may not be a complete list but it's almost definitely every song that accomplished it in the 21st century; I checked all of the big acts I could think of. Reporting was different in earlier decades but even then, top ten in two weeks is not an easy feat to pull off. And only Lady Gaga and Taylor have ever had the power to pull it off under the current system. Stevie Wonder has a song (Higher Ground) that entered the chart at #8 on its first week, but that was back in 1973 and I believe the chart was not always a full top 40 then (I know there was at least one brief moment where it was only a top 20), so I'm not sure it's really comparable (or the Wings songs, for that matter).

Notes: -"Afterglow"'s 4th day was Christmas Eve and day 5 was was Christmas. The influx of Christmas songs pushed it off the chart entirely. -Worst performing song seems to be between "Blow" and "How Would You Feel (Paen)," but given neither of these were singles, this makes "Afterglow" easily the worst performing among the singles. -"Bad Habits"'s performance is strikingly similar to "Cross Me"'s. However it should be noted, "Bad Habits" saw the normal day 4 rebound, "Cross Me" didn't. Its performance is also not too different from "Castle on the Hill"'s.

So on day one, Bad Habits pulled 40% of I Don't Care's total streams, and on day four, Bad Habits pulled 56% of its total streams. I can see it stabilising in the top 20 of US Spotify for weeks. It'll probably end up being a top ten hot which spends most of its time lingering in the top 20, occasionally returning to the top ten, maybe with the album release. Internationally I see it being way better.

This is still gaining large amounts every day. I remember being similarly surprised to Canβt Stop This Feeling - though I donβt remember how its first week panned out, only that it had a really high first day.

OK, enough of the personal jabs, please. Thank you. Especially when people try to shame others based on their real life jobs for simply expressing their opinion on a song on an internet messageboard.

How many songs have went Top 10 that fast and what was the last song to do so? I remember "drivers license" going Top 10 pretty fast. I fell down a freakin' rabbit hole and it's all your fault! Songs that entered the top 10 on week 2: Madonna - Secret (30-8) Madonna slayed that massive jump into the top 10, wow

What song(s) blocked Mariah's Without You on the Hot 100 and Pop? I see it spent six weeks at #3 on the latter.

Re: the 47 spins on Thursday June 24.. would these have been overnight spins the morning of the 25th? Or were they stations who played it earlier than they should? Or is it just differing time zones across the US that would account for these?
