If Levitating reaches #1, it will give justice to DSN not reaching #1, BMH not reaching top 10 and Physical not being big on Hot 100. It will be the best news since the vaccine for COVID 19.

I think all of them have pretty decent summer vibes, but I could only see Kiss Me More being the song of the summer at this point. The other two, especially Levitating, have been out and big for a bit too long already, and I don't see them maintaining enough steam to last through most of the summer. It's crazy, Levitating has been out so long, there was talk of it being released and whether it would be a hit LAST summer, and now we're talking about it being the hit of THIS summer, a year later lol. |

I've been saying it, Levitating is gonna be #1 on the YE chart. It has the most consistent longevity since Blinding Lights.

So it probably wonβt be crowned as the song of the summer on the Billboard Hot 100. It will likely hit #1 at some point. But the song of the summer tends to be released in late April/May (with the exception of Drakes βIn My Feelingsβ).

If I recall correctly, One Dance was released around the same time in 2016 (and was replaced at #1 with a song released earlier than it, in Cheap Thrills). Not to mention, Despacito and Old Town Road were released several months earlier in 2017 and 2019, respectively, with OTR already several weeks into its run at #1. [I'd even argue that if Senorita was released earlier, it would have never reached #1, as OTR was just way too strong. Just look at what happened to the first single.] I think Kiss Me More is in a perfect spot, unless the BTS stans go on a mass buying spree of Butter for 10+ weeks. |
