The thing is, Circles and I Hope were pretty much done when positions and Scary Hours 2 were released, respectively. Even if they didn't fall off that week, positions was followed by the holiday season and BE, while Scary Hours 2 was followed by the Grammys and Justice. Besides, both songs had already been outside the Top 10 for several months. There was really no opportunity for Circles or I Hope to re-enter the Top 25.
I'm just glad the BBMA's are tonight. Blinding Lights is almost certainly going to win a lot of awards and get a performance. Without this, BL would have went recurrent on the 6/5 chart. That being said, unless the BBMA's give BL a sustained 3rd wind, it will go recurrent on the next big release.

Levitating's resurgence has company now. With Forever After All's 22% gain in Week 30 (and it's been rising at a rapid rate as of late), it will be interesting to see if this becomes more of a trend, or if these resurgences are just weird anomalies.

There's a big difference here, though. FAA's resurgence was bound to happen because country radio is very slow to pick up on new songs. This happens all the time with country songs that debut high upon release. By contrast, I was not expecting Levitating to see a resurgence post-Grammy's thanks to TikTok virality and people realizing how much they like the song.

Yes, Good 4 You's music video on YouTube got more than twice and a half my.life's weekly views, but those count only two-thirds of what on-demand streams because they are considered ad-supported.

It's ridiculous how poorly "pov" is doing on streaming, and it's all due to lack of playlisting. For instance, "34+35" is still on TTH, while the actual current single is nowhere to be seen. What is wrong with Ariana's team?
Hopefully the eventual music video release should get the song's promotion back on track. It's an amazing tune that deserves to be a hit, and not only a radio-driven one.

Even 34+35's run turned out to be a disappointment. I fully expected this to buck the trend and become Ari's first 40-week song, but it looks like it is going to leave the chart with positions.

So sad that "Survivor" got stuck at #2 for 7 weeks behind "All For You", and the moment it left, "Lady Marmalade" took over.
All three are fantastic tunes, though - don't get me wrong.

The notable list of songs that would be going recurrent based on TOTC's prediction is extensive: 34+35, Positions, You Broke Me First, DΓ‘kiti, You're Mine Still, Therefore I Am, What's Your Country Song, Good Days, Just the Way, One Too Many and Down to One.

Savage(Remix) to me felt like a actual remix. Not adding one or multiple artists on a song that most of the times sounds forced and all over the place ,but a true remix like late 90s and early 2000s vibes .

I suspect it's hard to create that kind of remix and so it doesn't happen a lot.

One Too Many will not be going recurrent. It's still listed on TOTC's predictions at #71 thanks to continued country radio gains. I'm aware that it's below #50 with over 20 weeks, but it's not going away until radio drops it consistently. We've seen this pattern before.

Yes, we have, I'm curious to see how many weeks it ends up with, because it probably needs a good thirty weeks or more to make the YE.

My Ex's Best Friend could even fall to recurrency if it continues its losses on radio. (Blinding Lights should be safe for Week 77 because it is likely to see a boost from winning several awards and getting a performance on tonight's BBMA's.)

Normally, the resurgence would be on radio and the gains in points would be 2%, 3%, 4% a week, but FAA has been gaining on all metrics and its points are increasing at a double-digit percentage rate. We'll see if it sustains, though. If the gains don't slow down in 5 weeks, then this is truly something more than a normal country resurgence. It's definitely on a rare trajectory, but I still wouldn't classify it as a "resurgence" since this is the song's first run as a single. When it came out last fall, it was technically just an "instant gratification track" for his deluxe album. It was not promoted to radio, but it just happened to do huge sales and streaming numbers -- numbers that actually held up for a while because people really liked the song. This isn't one of those situations in which a superstar country artist releases a new single, it charts well due to big first week sales and iHeartMedia airplay, and then comes back down to earth before gradually rising back as it embarks on its (lengthy) country radio run. It was literally not a single at first, so its sales/streams were essentially "unsolicited**." Now, it is a single, and it's seeing metric increases befitting a song that's connecting with radio listeners. I guess we potentially could have seen something similar with "7 Summers," had the Morgan Wallen incident not happened. But even that would have been a little different as "7 Summers" was (however half-heartedly) promoted to mainstream radio upon launch. **In the conventional sense; Luke famously did campaign for sales in the hopes of hitting #1 on the Hot 100.

I'm going to hold off on predicting what songs will go recurrent next week until I have a better idea of where Olivia's songs will land and where J. Cole's will fall. I don't think Olivia's album bomb will be quite as destructive as Cole's will be this week, and I expect most of Cole's songs to take steep hits. I bet there'll be a lot more recoveries than you might initially think. The only long-lasting song that I fully expect to exit is Lady, which is on its way out anyway.

According to an interview with Big Loud by Billboard, they said that the format was the one who didn't want to play the song. I don't know how much that says about the efforts they went through to make the song take off, but there was an effort

Bey grew up in different times, soaking in all the greatness from her peers. Iβm sure Meg wouldβve been okay with an additional verse, but thatβs not the way she does things, and it paid off.
