Next, their first Top 10 soul hit, peaking at #8. It was also their first song to top the Christian chart.

I'm finally finished. This was so damn hard. I just had to tank the songs I didn't know because this list has way too many "all time favorites" as it is.

Just submitted. My top 5 and bottom 4 were easy, everything else was pretty challenging. I really can't believe a couple of these songs went to #1.

if anyone has any tips on how to squeeze fifteen songs into a top 10 please pass them along!
I was kind of surprised at the number of songs I didn't recognize or only had vague memories of. That's basically what my bottom 10 is.m,.

A trio of extras today. First, one of his 4 Top 10 soul hits from his debut album Make It Last Forever, peaking at #9.
Don't Stop Your Love - Keith Sweat
Next, a song that would be their last charted single for 7 years. It peaked at #13 on the soul chart.
N.E. Heart Break - New Edition
This next song wasn't released as a single, but is a quiet storm staple. Bobby Valentino covered it for his 2007 album Special Occasion.
Soon As I Get Home - Babyface

"Superwoman" and the Bobby singles are a lock for top 5. I don't feel comfortable predicting anything else. Lol.

My only three predictions:
- you kids on my lawn are gonna do my #2 dirty and I'm going to yell at all of you like the old ass auntie that I am when you do - The Boys is bottom five, most likely last place even - none of the Surface songs will escape bottom 10 (ngl Surface has me confused...for it to be such a great year for them I have absolutely no recollection of their existence)
Also, I just realized I put my Bobby Brown songs down in the wrong order...they're only 3 positions from each other so it's nbd, at least. I am certainly not finishing either from a high finish lol.

Top 5?
Janet, Karyn (solo), Jody, Bobby (but not for that Ghostbusters tune), and either Soul II Soul or maybe Regina?
Bottom 5?
I hope The Boys. Maybe one of the Surface songs. I love most Prince but Batdance blows. It will escape the bottom 5, but it belongs there IMO.

Reveals will begin shortly!
But first, a couple of extras. First, while he was still a year away from his breakthrough on the Hot 100 with "U Can't Touch This", this rapper from Oakland got his breakthrough on the soul chart with this song. Peaking at #12, it samples the Parliament classic "Tear The Roof Off The Sucker".
Turn This Mutha Out - MC Hammer
Next, one of the most controversial songs of its time. Due to the explicit content of the song and its parent album led to this group being prosecuted on obscenity charges and the album being banned in Florida, though the ban was later overturned on appeal. Chartwise, it topped the rap chart and peaked at #34 on the soul chart and #26 on the Hot 100. Also hitting #1 in The Netherlands, it samples the Mass Production song "Firecracker" and contains dialogue from the movies Which Way Is Up? and Full Metal Jacket.
Me So Horny - 2 Live Crew
