Already have my seat reserved next to my sister and her weird ass hip-hop tastes. I objectively respect Batdance for the experimental piece of music that it is, hence my high-ish rank for it. But it's not one of my biggest Prince faves and I've always been kind of flabbergasted that it was as big a hit as it was, even for its time. That was the exact opposite of safe. I'm also quite surprised that it doesn't have the highest standard deviation here. I predict De La Soul and at least one Karyn song (hopefully not both) leaving in the 11-15 range. After that though, who knows. This is a very solid top 15, every song left deserves to be there. (Only two of the songs remaining are outside my top 15 - of course I'm pleased with this outcome lol. Even those two songs are nothing short of lovely) |

OMG I can not believe y'all did that to "Something In The Way You Make Me Feel" This is a f**king classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXACTLY! Like wtf is going onIronically, that's exactly what I thought when I heard the abysmal tempo-matching in the song. I don't know if the performers needed another take or someone didn't know what they were doing with the master tapes, but it turned what would've been an enjoyable song into an uncomfortable mess |

Oh wow, De La Soul made it! Not mad about it, but I wasn't expecting that at all.
On one hand I feel like I unfairly underranked Superwoman, but OTOH it's admittedly the Karyn hit that I revisit the least and I assumed it was going to be one of those songs where my rank wouldn't matter either way. Based on the point spread between it and #11, it doesn't seem like I was wrong about that. There isn't any ranking I could have given it that would have boosted it into the top 10.
