Unlike Christina, who has truly a great voice, Olivia sounded like a wailing cat on SNL. And i wonder why you would possibly be saying that right

2014 is by far the worst imo. If you look at the Year-End top 20, I'd say there are only like 4 of songs I would consider to be good, and that includes Royals which really is a 2013 hit (Royals, Team, Counting Stars, Pompeii). 2016 had quite a few bangers, and I think it stands out more sonically compared to others year with the House and Dancehall trends (which I enjoy). While I like the early 2010's from a nostalgic and personal standpoint, I do think a lot of the trends from that era will age a lot worse than the latter part of the 2010's. Similar to how the a lot of the pop in mid-late 80's was trying to sound cutting-edge and futuristic sonically, so much so where it just became sort of laughable in hindsight. Username checks out again! ๐ I also really enjoy "Happy", "Problem", "Shake It Off", and "Am I Wrong" from the top 20, and while not deserving of being the artists' biggest hits, I can be in the mood for "All Of Me" and "Stay With Me" every now and then. But it's true that as far as excellent tunes go, it's only the four you mentioned, which is a very low number. Of course, we still had several hidden gems, but it seems to me that most tend to base their overall impression of a year in mainstream music based on the main trends attached to it, and from the formulaic and generic DJ Mustard productions to the body shaming anthems disguised as empowering, not to mention the utterly dull ballads, 2014 wasn't a fun year.

As someone who participated in the Pulse Re-do of the 2014 rankdown, I can attest to there being only less than 10 good/great songs on the year-end. Though Royal would not be one of them. I still stand by Royals being overrated.

Looking at how Olivia is performing on Spotify, then it is now quite probable that she will end up with the highest weekly streams for an album made by a female artist on Spotify Worldwide, beating Ariana. Overall she could end up at #3, behind Drake and Post.

I canโt believe Driverโs License is behind 7 other Olivia songs. That song was so big, I would have thought it would have been one of the most streamed songs once her album was out.

Favorite Crime is looking like it might be a fan favorite from the album, as it increases on Spotify for a second day in a row. It, Good 4 U, and Traitor were the only three songs from the album to do so today.

She probably has the number one for her to still be at over 4,000,000 on Spotify. The โpredictionโ accounts are going to be scared to post this week because they are going to be reported by insane stans when she is number one again You sure do have a lot to say for a fad who thought Astronaut In The Ocean remix was going to be ahead of Levitating two weeks ago, and had absolutely no braincells to comprehend that it could challenge for #1, and also thought Save Your Tears and Peaches would easily be ahead of it, when it wasn't even close. Just shut up already and quit speaking on people who are easily more accurate than your fad ass is. Even better, deactivate from Pulse. No one wants to hear stupidity in your every post. I know that you said that with extra sass and extra neck rolling, gworl

As a chart watcher, the swift rise of Olivia Rodrigo is one of the most exciting things to happen in a long time. When was the last time an artist exploded onto the scene like this? She just debuted 4 months ago and already has two #1 singles with record-breaking streams and is on her way to a record-breaking streaming week for her debut. Has anyone ever become so popular so quickly?

Like I feel like the only person (recently) who's quick rise is comparable is Cardi's. Her first song to chart went to number one and was in the Top 10 for 20 weeks, she got two Top 20 hits later with Bartier Cardi and No Limit, and set records with Invasion of Privacy which was released less than a year later.
Post comes close but his rise was delayed since Congratulations needed to be a sleeper hit first before his superstardom.

Has anyone ever become so popular so quickly? Maybe Britney Spears? Theyโre both new artists who quickly became one of the most popular and talked about music artists. Britneyโs rise was not as immediate as Oliviaโs, but she also started in the pre-digital era, so she probably exploded as quickly as she could have. If there was streaming back in 1999, I wouldnโt be shocked ifย ...Baby One More Time pulled insane numbers.

Don't worry, Billboard has the extra day to do the "routine audit" if need be. Well, not really. Isn't the extra day because they take the holiday off? It's not like much work will be done on that 'extra day.'

Post comes close but his rise was delayed since Congratulations needed to be a sleeper hit first before his superstardom. I'll also throw in Drake's name. He came up in the digital era but his first ever Hot 100 entry ended up peaking at #2 (Best I Ever Had) and it was off of a free mixtape released before he even got signed to a record label. The same mixtape also scored a top 20 hit (Successful, which peaked at #17). Just over a year removed from when he released that mixtape, he released his debut album which debuted with 447K units in it's first week (the biggest first week sales of any debut album in the 2010s decade) despite leaking a week early and before that album dropped, he had accumulated 2 top 10 hits and 4 top 40 hits under his belt. That's almost unheard of for a new rapper, during a time in the music industry when the artists seeing the most success were pop singers.

Rihanna as well, she came out with Pon de Replay which debut at 97 in June 2005 and then ascended in the top 10 the following month and eventually peaked at 2. Then fast forward a year and SOS comes out and tops the chart in May and then Umbrella becomes a huge hit in 2007 and the rest is history.
