It's true tho. It doesn't matter if they've sold stadiums here b/c if mass buying wasn't a thing it's clear they wouldn't be touching #1 or even be close But those are sales that bring revenue. Billboard is a revenue chart. I'm disgusted by the anti-East Asian sentiment in this thread/board. LMAOO ur making it a racial issue b/c ppl are calling out mass buying? And your defending fraudulent mass buying in the same sentence? I've seen it all! Those sales don't bring BILLBOARD specific revenue. They're just a fraudlent way of manipulating consumption to seem as if the song is bigger than it is. That song would literally fall out of the top 10 after 2 weeks without the same 5k ppl buying 100 copies per person. |

hot take but Savage Love Remix is BTS’s “most real” #1. WAP was definitely bigger Dynamite weeks and Life Goes On just had sales but Savage Love was a hit across the board and BTS pushed it up to #1
(side note Dynamite & Butter both were somewhat screwed by going against two of the biggest weeks in the chart in the past two years. if this was a month ago when the number one song was scraping under 300 points we wouldn’t be calling Butter a fake number one, it just happened to go up against the most organic hit in forever. Same with Dynamite and WAP, Dynamite was a big song and would’ve gotten #1 without the fraud mass buying most other weeks in 2020, it just was up against 2020’s biggest single week #1 so its number one has a big asterisk because of the mass buying.)
