I better see "pov" on the next update for Today's Top Hits. The discrepancy between its performance on airplay and streaming is embarrassing, especially for an act who usually excels at the latter like Ariana.

Am I correct to assume this means equivalent and not actual sales? At this point it's too hard to hit actual meaningful milestones in actual sales (even for albums), so 99% of these "achievements" are SPS. Even Taylor Swift, who's one of the last acts to move 1m in pure sales won't hit that milestone with evermore or the Fearless remake. Yeah I get it, but personally I don't like them advertising it as actual sales when it's SPS. It's fine to say "equivalent of..." or just "SPS" or something. |

To be fair, it took Canada this week to finally get rid of Blinding Lights, I don’t know how long it’ll take for it to finally drop out of the US. BL fell one week short of tying I Gotta Feeling in Canada. Those two are obviously the biggest songs all time in Canada, and I wonder which one is #1. I think you mean of the Hot 100 era, because Elton John's Candle In The Wind 1997/Something About The Way You Look Tonight spent 46 weeks at #1 and has sold over 2 million copies. So far I'm not aware of a song even doing that in SPS units yet there. |

^^Actually it wasn't that quick, since it almost managed six months before getting its peak. That said, it is sad to see it have daily radio audience drops comparable or worse than those Country songs that have already peaked, which can be among the steepest. Which means, unfortunately, it is quite unlikely to reach 52 weeks on the Hot 100.

So we can't analyze if the biggest hit in Billboard Hot 100 history will drop out this week? Guess they decided to wait until the new tracking week to release a remix so that they have a chance to cling to the #1.
At least it’s just one remix this time and not a whole barrage of them like with Dynamite.

Yes, it is kind of embarrassing, maybe since it's already been out for so long and was already charting a little bit before it became an official single is the reason; people have already gotten their fill of it, or maybe casual fans and the GP just aren't liking it as much. Just another song that can't break through the post-album single curse. It will definitely need a video to propel it any higher, and I think even a new version done as a duet with someone would work, and if done right it would seem organic and not as a gimmick for a quickie #1. |

I understand that but it is just tiring to see any song (regardless of quality) being on the charts for more than a year (and in this case, a year and a half!) taking up a spot and being brought up mostly on radio. |
