It looks like One Too Many will beat the 20 week recurrent rule for another week. Also, no song over 20 weeks will go recurrent this week.

I'm a bit surprised that Olivia's album didn't have much of an impact on this. I still think On Me will go recurrent, but I was expecting 2-3 songs to go recurrent.

Olivia's songs are just replacing J.Cole's songs, so not putting the current 20+ week songs under any more pressure.

Looks like the only dropout across both TOTC's and Cedric's predictions with any sense of longevity is The Business getting knocked away early.

Looks like since the year Streaming Songs started, Olivia could be just the 3rd woman to have 3 solo songs peak top 3.

8(-) The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 51.15(-1.35) We're not gonna fall for this one again Memorial Day weekend may explain this. It's not just Blinding Lights that fell. Leave the Door Open, Save Your Tears, and many other songs also had large negative updates. We should see more normal updates on Tuesday.

I think the easier thing to do to manage sales would be to increase the divisor and limit song sales to 1 per consumer. That wonβt happen anytime soon because the music industry still holds a lot of weight in sales for some reason, but I can hope. They should limit the streaming of a song to 1 per consumer too. See it works both ways.

BTS - What meaning is left of the fallen planetβs remaining life / Iβll receive it til I die, your stifling stare / I still orbit you, and nothingβs changed / If love has no name, everything has changed
Olivia Rodrigo - Has not made any comment on Pluto (possibly anti-Pluto)

Wow! Metallica getting a #10 debut in 1996 - I had no idea about it! If I recall, it was their first new release since "Metallica" (aka "The Black Album") was so huge, and it was a physical single release back when that really mattered. It had a really short run on the Hot 100.

To paraphrase a song I heard today, a high peak does not make a hit.

Wow! Metallica getting a #10 debut in 1996 - I had no idea about it! "Until It Sleeps" did last a full 20 weeks--spending half of those in the top 40--and made the Hot 100 Year-End, making it Metallica's only such appearance. A better result than a lot of top 10 debuts in the modern era, at least. The 1996 chart year actually gave us another single with a similar story-- Merkin Ball by Pearl Jam, whose A-side was "I Got Id", debuted at #7 on the 12/22/95 chart, and also lasted 20 weeks with 9 of those being in the top 40. If "Last Kiss" didn't smash in 1999, "I Got Id" would be their only year-End Hot 100 entry. Until "Bury A Friend" in 2019, "Sleeps" and "Id" were the last 2 Alternative/Mainstream Rock songs that did not need to cross over to Pop radio to make the Year-End chart. Another excellent song from 1996 that didn't need to cross over to be a huge hit: "Elevators (Me & You)" by OutKast, the duo's biggest single before Stankonia. Debuted at #16 on July 27, peaked at #12 the next week. 10 weeks in the top 25, 20 weeks overall. Never appeared on Mainstream Top 40 Airplay, and still netted a #59 on the Year-End.

Can someone explain why BTS Butter is predicted to be #1 on the Hot 100 on the same week that Olivia Rodrigo Good 4 U set streaming records? How can Good 4 U not be #1?

^ Iβve never even heard that song. Itβs funny to see which hits last and which donβt. The forgotten hit I always mention is βYou Light Up My Lifeβ by Debby Boone. Iβve never met any Zoomer EVER that has heard of that song (or any Millennial for that matter), and as for older generations, Iβve never met any Boomer or Gen Xβr that likes it, despite it being one of the biggest hits of all time. My dad bought an old vinyl single of it last week as a gag gift for my mom. It seems that previous generations got so unbelievably sick of it that it straight up missed people born in the 90s and younger. Can someone explain why BTS Butter is predicted to be #1 on the Hot 100 on the same week that Olivia Rodrigo Good 4 U set streaming records? How can Good 4 U not be #1? Digital sales. Armys bought such a sheer amount of copies that it overwhelmed her huge streaming lead. Also, what time is it in New Hampshire?! Go to sleep my dear (unless ur working one of ur 300 jobs, Iβd HOPE u donβt have a night shift tho)

I guess it's up to Billboard to decide who gets the Hot 100 #1.

I guess it's up to Billboard to decide who gets the Hot 100 #1. I think sales are weighted more than streams for purposes of Hot 100 calculations so there's that. But if you look at the prediction figures, Olivia outstreamed BTS by 200% but BTS outsold Olivia by 1352%. I think that when you look at it like that, it's pretty clear as day how they overtook the lead. I'm actually now curious to see how BTS' point total would differ without any streams. They don't have Olivia's level streaming numbers but they're not horrible streaming numbers either.

top sales weeks since bundle changes went into full effect: 129k life goes on 69k blue and grey 59k willow 58k stay 52k forever after all 45k dynamite 44k dynamite 44k life goes on 43k dynamite 40k dynamite
what an impressive lack of variety.
really makes me curious how adele's lead will do. her last one shattered records.

Impressive longevity by Welcome Back. It was rare for songs to still be in the Top 10 a month after reaching #1. The 1976 list continues to be the best of the bunch almost every week.
