Hmmm... Why are you comparing the chart positions from last week when they weren't even competing with each other? Shouldn't the supposed boyband that would "outchart Elvis Pressley and Adele" have their biggest song hit #1 in more than just 3 countries? What happened?

Butter sold that many ? ☠️ How much money do these stans have A lot! They kept Dynamite on the hot 100 long enough to break a record just because they wanted to. These aren’t all kids but working adults.

Crazy BTS tied Maroon 5 in #1s now . Maroon 5 #1s: Makes Me Wonder,Moves Like Jagger,One More Night, and Girls Like You. In 2 years the BoTS will tie The Supremes (if they keep getting 4 #1's per year) and by 2025 they will pass Mariah and The Beatles. I don't think billboard will let BTS surpass The Beatles in #1s.They'll put a rule in place when they get closer to 20 so they won't break it.

Ultimately, I'd argue it's more Billboard's fault for not doing anything to stop this than it is Army's fault for wanting to mass-buy their way to the top. Again, if Billboard wanted to keep their charts as accurate as possible and prevent consumers who know them as well as they do from trying to manipulate it, they'd have patched these problems long ago. They're just actively choosing not to because they're a business, and they know BTS going to #1 yet again will get them lots of publicity and thus revenue. Then again, I would expect nothing less from the company that didn't allow airplay-only singles to cross over for a solid half-decade in the '90s. They're as slow to adapt to change as the US government is. Bumping this because it bears repeating for those complaining about BTS going to #1 today. I know I've long ago accepted this would happen.

No one should have any problem with Butter topping the Global charts. It was clearly the most popular song in the world last week. The difference in Youtube views was gargantuan. The problem is with Billboard Hot 100. It clearly wasn't the most popular song in the US last week

I will. after you learn how to respect poc. BTS is poc too. Learn to respect them as well. I never denied her being poc, just that most people don't know her roots so she is not facing the kind of racism BTS does. Unless it's stan twitter. End of story. I'm not gonna argue with anyone here about this anymore.

Butter hasn't reached it's peak yet in a lot of countries. Most charts have only just updated since Butter came out. Also, g4u has had a week longer to rack up #1's.

I just don't understand the point of buying multiple digital copies of something EXCEPT to manipulate the charts. At least with a physical item, you can feign that you were purchasing it for other people or wanting two copies for home and work or something, but a digital copy is instantly available wherever you go and you can even send that digital copy to all your friends since they got rid of DRM back in 2009. There is absolutely no reason to purchase multiple digital copies of the same thing.

I just imagine it like: -mom, please give me some money -why? -we want to keep Dynamite on the Hot 100 for the 32nd week, so it can break the Gangnam's record -okay

Oh really? In every country? Every? On what position did it chart in France? Because Butter got top 10. Did it even charted in Japan? Korea? In India? Did it got 1M streams there like Butter? Any other asian country? How is it in Brazil? Because Butter got the most streams by a non brazil act in history. The same with Turkey. How about african countries? Learn geography. Hmmm... Showing first week of "Good 4 U" when Butter was not even out. Sure.

We can just pretend Maroon 5's 4 #1 hits were This Love, Makes Me Wonder, Moves Like Jagger, and One More Night. This Love was another great hit from the great year of 2004.

Shouldn't Butter have taken over the #1 spot in all those countries since you claim its a bigger song? Why is it that Butter missed the #1 in so many countries? Maybe it's cause... Good 4 U is bigger?

Mayman "BTS would not be #1 without mass buying and website sales. This can be seen by Rolling Stones chart, which uses only streams and sales, where Butter is placed at #2."I'm admittedly not too familiar with the methodology of the Rolling Stone charts, but aren't you contradicting yourself here? Unless Rolling Stones doesn't count website sales and further limits the number of song copies per person, then the sales numbers for "Butter" wouldn't be two different between the two charts. Again, please do correct me if I'm wrong. And if that's the case, then the only difference between the two would be airplay, and at least according to kworb, "Butter" held an advantage throughout the week (maybe not 'significantly' so as I mentioned, but it was firmly ahead), which makes sense why it would be ahead of "good 4 u" on Billboard. I'll wait until the metric breakdown chart is shared by TOTC, but I stand by my point that acting bitter towards "Butter" won't get you anywhere. This hasn't been the first time mass buying aided a song in hitting #1 ("Stuck With U", "TROLLZ", "FRANCHISE"), and unless Billboard changes its rules, it will keep happening.

Good 4 U is bigger? It's almost 100% because no other country's chart besides Billboard's US and Canadian Hot 100's allow website sales, which means mass-buying to manipulate those charts is virtually impossible.

So the caterwauling loser couldn't have #1s simultaneously in the BB200 and Hot100?

I'm not sure where you're suggesting I am contradicting myself. You can check yourself, Good 4 U is #1 and Butter is #2 on the Rolling Stones Chart. I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm not sure what you're suggesting here. Airplay literally would make no difference in whether Butter or Good 4 U was #1, it's the sales. That's it. Good 4 U's MASSIVE streams should make it the #1, but Butter is #1 because people from other countries sent money in order to manipulate the chart. That's it. Sorry, but I think your argument that it isn't just sales that made BTS #1 is invalid.

Butter's streams are bigger globally this week tho. The only reason why it hasn't gotten all of it's #1s yet is because not every chart has updated.

Let's all hope that Billboard will get rid of sales entirely although that is wishful thinking.
