I will. after you learn how to respect poc. BTS is poc too. Learn to respect them as well. I never denied her being poc, just that most people don't know her roots so she is not facing the kind of racism BTS does. Unless it's stan twitter. End of story. I'm not gonna argue with anyone here about this anymore. you slimey piece of shit. you fucking finally acknowledged my post and you didn't take a moment to apologize for your comments, not even a tiny bit these is not words of someone respectful of a poc And then they hide behind Olivia being poc when she is completely white passing and no GP knows she is like 10% filo. I've gone on how it's disrespectful in a different post why this is disrespectful but for now I'll discuss your current comments. I figured that you were hiding and didn't publicly apologized because I embarrassed you and called you out and yet here, not only do you double down on it, you make another fallacious argument on race the level or kind of racism doesn't matter nor should it be measured! BTS gets called slurs on Twitter by Olivia stans and ARMY stans attack Olivia for not being fully Asian. Both are disgusting behavior, and neither should be accepted by the standoms. There is no more need to bring it up because it is ultimately irrelevant to the discussion of sales vs. streams. And as I said, it is disrespectful to BTS and to Asians facing racism to keep hiding behind this defense when people criticize mass buying. If you don't apologize or see why you're wrong after this, well then I hope you enjoy being ratioed by me twice in one week

First it's only few countries. Second not every country chart showed their results yet. Sorry, but Good 4 U is one of few songs among songs with the most #1s on worldwide charts this year. That's not "a few". Let's compare global metrics this week: Butter streams - 289.2M (biggest 1 week total of all time) Butter sales - 249k g4u streams - 135.8M g4u sales - 23k I'm not sure why you are trying to argue that g4u was bigger globally this week. It was clearly not.

Let's all hope that Billboard will get rid of sales entirely although that is wishful thinking. They won't because other genres do still depend on song sales, especially country and rock/alt. What I'd prefer is if non-digital-storefront sales were removed from the Hot 100 methodology and instead included in a revamped Song Sales chart to replace the current Digital Song Sales chart. But again, that's wishful thinking.

So the caterwauling loser couldn't have #1s simultaneously in the BB200 and Hot100? Loser!!! Seems to me like you're the real loser here, OBSESSED with hating and attacking on an 18 year old girl behind a computer screen. Unlike Christina, who has truly a great voice, Olivia sounded like a wailing cat on SNL. Yeah glad the SNL caterwauler getting big. Enough is enough, the way the Olivia stans are acting is unacceptable. Olivia already reached #1. Ugly, ugly true colors on display here.

It's almost 100% because no other country's chart besides Billboard's US and Canadian Hot 100's allow website sales, which means mass-buying to manipulate those charts is virtually impossible. So what you're saying is that BTS can't go #1 without mass buying and chart manipulation? Interesting... Not that it's 100% impossible as long as they have organic support from people outside their own fanbase. But right now, that's how they operate.

I won't forget the week when website sales helped Franchise get to #1, and spoil what would have been Dynamite's 4th week at #1.

This is not relevant to the point to the original post that was made by Soundcl🕤ck .

I just don't understand the point of buying multiple digital copies of something EXCEPT to manipulate the charts. At least with a physical item, you can feign that you were purchasing it for other people or wanting two copies for home and work or something, but a digital copy is instantly available wherever you go and you can even send that digital copy to all your friends since they got rid of DRM back in 2009. There is absolutely no reason to purchase multiple digital copies of the same thing. Careful, you don’t want to be accused of getting into someone’s business for how they choose to spend their own money. Lmaoooo

In a week or 2 you should check back and compare the #1s. Both songs will have had sufficient time to peak by then.

No one said BTS didn't sell 250k. It's that it was probably under 50k people buying the copies and negating the impact of over 30million streams more. Record breaking Spotify numbers.
(Radio was more or less irrelevant to the race, the difference wasn't that big in terms of points, but then again one song had a paid radio deal and the other didn't, so...)
But anyways.

*me coming into this thread and seeing all the back and forth* I would rather have the Drake essays than the nonsense that Meg and the other BoTS post here each week.

Well, I suppose when CLB comes out we can get the Drake essays. For now we get the intersectionality of BTS vs. Olivia

It is not just BTS website sales
A current check of itunes - Butter counts for 3 spots in the top 10 and on Amazon 3 of the top 5

But for real, as much as I don't like the tactics that BTS fans use to get their songs to the top of the charts, there's nothing illegal about it (at least, according to Billboard and Nielsen) so maybe just let them be? They've found a formula that works for them to score #1 debuts on the Hot 100 and as long as no new rules are introduced by Billboard regarding mass buying/pure sales, they'll keep racking up high debuts and that's just it. We really can't keep having the chart thread of any week where they release a single go to sh*t simply because they scored yet another #1 debut. It is what it is. Let's all just move on.

Drake got *blocked* from debuting at #1 on the Hot 100 several times last year and it never mattered to me so I don't know where you're getting this from.

Drake scores top 10 hits in his sleep. Why would I be worried that a song failed to debut at #1 or rise to #1? He puts out so much music that if he misses that spot in one instance, he can always get it another time when the charts are more favorable lol.
Also, I've spoken out many times about how true chart success in the streaming era is measured by a song/album's longevity (especially in the top 10) and not where it debuts, so...

I just can't. Sorry. I've been following the Billboard since 2010, because I want to see which songs are the biggest that week, not to know which fanbase is the richest. and like I said before, I blame BILLBOARD, not BTS or their annoying stans.

Here's a food for thought, Liv has 3 songs in the top ten, nine in the top 20 and eleven in the top 30, let's just appreciate that and praise her for that instead of being salty she didn't get the top spot.

but even her 7th highest song was only below 8 non-sour songs. that's amazing.
