Polo G is totally going to dominate the charts in 2 weeks, and Rapstar should get a boost out of this:

People are going to judge SGD by stan logic until the album drops and the song does better, but it is good to keep this sort of thing in perspective.

Might as well put them all so that anyone here can find a song among them that suits their mood/preference.

Side note: I ALSO heard TelepatΓa on the radio for the first time today - it sounded even better coming out of the car speakers. I think Kali Uchis will finally surpass her #39 peak once the album bombs slide off the chart.
I'll guess she'll jump up to #32.

Very good options as well. I was trying to go for "Don't Speak" by No Doubt and "Be Quiet" by Monsta X.

The real definition of chart manipulation - 'Baker Street' being #1 and ALLEGEDLY the Billboard chart director kept 'Shadow Dancing' at #1 that week because of Andy Gibb's manager threatened to pull Andy from a Billboard sponsored show. I think AT40 had to rerecord that week because they were told BS was #1. RSO allegedly was involved in a lot of chart manipulation, especially during 1977-78. Where there's smoke. Labels always manipulate the charts. The reverse happened in the 1990s when labels didn't release singles so they could sell more albums. It mostly worked. Best/worst example: No Doubt's 'Don't Speak' - clearly one of the 1990s iconic hits - nowhere to be found on H100 or the treasured year-end charts - 16 weeks at #1 radio and sold a ton of albums. For this week's chart. Olivia looks like she's going to have one of the best 2nd week multi-track/album bombs. Back then everyone knew what was going on. I feel like Billboard used to write if this song was eligible it would place here etc, etc. You had to be there I guess. It wasn't the worse thing in the world and at the last minute labels would put out a physical to get the peak the fans wanted. lol Billboard was/is an industry magazine. The industry is thinking about money. If BTS fans are buying and spending money than why would they change rules? Industry=Money. They don't care about chart watchers. lol Exactly! People forget it's call show BUSINESS for a reason. The goal is to make money. Numerous highly successful hitmaking acts have been dropped by their label (or given a small promo/recording budget) because they were no longer profitable. Isn't that why Virgin bought out Mariah's contract? They paid her to leave because they believed future projects would be costlier than a lumpsum payout. Oops! The profit has to come from either music, merchandise or touring. So a money-losing album can be recouped through the other two. Obsessed Chart watchers: What's the bigger song? 'Bye, Bye, Bye' or 'It's Gonna Be Me' Case closed. LOL

Iβm curious from this silly fight, are Meg and other people on this forum from the US? Because all we talk about is the US charts but Iβm curious if everyone here in the US thread is actually American. Because itβd be nice to talk more about global charts than talking again about the same stupid stuff again and again

I wished these forums existed back in the 80's & 90's when the Queens of Pop were ruling the charts. Can you imagine the mayhem.

Pulse bingo would have had a Michael Jackson category like our Rhi or Adele categories at present.

Since you are not leaving me alone for some reason I will post this interesting billboard article. Newsflash, no one is required to leave you alone. This is a discussion board--when you post something, people may respond, whether you like what they have to say or not. It's pretty simple.

I do think it's fair to chill out with the dogpiling (don't feed the trolls and whatnot). A fair compromise is to block the person and move on with other discussions.

Just popping in as a lurker to say that the drama centered around a certain user these past few weeks is giving me some major 'hot100predictions' flashbacks... and those of you who remember that know how that ended up lol.

2 I f**king hate grime and will spend the rest of my life actively trying not to hear it I know this is the H100 chart thread but I agree with this but maybe for a different reason. I think it's disturbing that the OCC acts like they don't know what recurrent rules are and relies on flat-out fabricating numbers after an arbitrary number of weeks (i.e. the Accelerated Chart Ratio). 10 weeks is way too short for a hit to be considered "on the decline". All of the OCC's concerns about songs being on the Top 100 for "too long" would be solved if they just β¦ added recurrent rules like Billboard does. Billboard can be annoying, but at least they aren't literally halving songs' streaming numbers on the chart because they think that after less than three months of existence, a big top 5 hit may as well be out of the top 20.

Not argue with anyone by the way. Just answering people that are quoting me. I echo your closing sentiment, I don't wish to start an argument - I am just a lowly chartwatcher. I can understand why u defend BTS the way that you do if they helped you out a dark place. Write massive essays on how great they are if you want but I am against bringing down other artists. If you believe (and the keyword is if) that BTS are the best thing since sliced bread then great but you don't have to bring other artists down to prove that. I dont blame their fans for massbuying either. Billboard haven't updated their rules and BTS fans are just exploiting that. I just wish we could all chart watch peacefully.Thank you! Can we please understand that Billboard's rules are the problem here, and not the ARMY taking advantage of it? We've gone long enough with this exhausting fight, and I would really appreciate it if we just stop provoking further discussion on the matter. Olivia had amazing streaming numbers, "Butter" had a respectable performance overall, but due to Billboard's flawed rules regarding sales, BTS got the #1. It is what it is. We hope they can fix things so the charts become more accurate, but we shouldn't lash out at the band or their fanbase when they just played the game fair and square, let alone dismiss "Butter" as a legitimate hit song. Just leaving my opinion here, but again, let's move on. This week has much more interesting things to discuss, from the prospects of some tracks from "SOUR" actually rising on their second week and the predictions on potential entries + re-entries. The hilarious use of this song on forum boards is the only reason I'm grateful for its existence. Otherwise, bottom tier on Ariana's discography - no contest π
