BBMAs is based on chart success in a specific tracking period so it objectively didn’t deserve to make it over those albums…
Also FN is peaking late in its run because it has a smash hit late in its run. It was still nowhere as big as those albums on release or the first few months following. It’s doing better now but that doesn’t indicate it did better overall or will continue doing better once the era ends.

How I would rank the top 2020 albums:
1. After Hours (has 3 #1's, including probably the greatest song in the history of the Billboard charts. Don't forget the rule that credited some of its units to The Highlights. AH was at the top of the class of the 2020 albums.) 2. Pop Smoke (spawned several sleeper hits, including WYKBL) 3. Future Nostalgia (had 2 big hits, DSN and BMH, before the revival. Levitating will probably push FN above Pop Smoke) 4. Folklore (felt like this came and went, like Cardigan was big for a week or two, and the album was forgotten about after Evermore)

Lol, folklore being forgotten. That's a good joke.

Between these albums, Future Nostalgia and folklore are the two best, After Hours is good but not as good as those two and Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon is so mid.

I'd argue that all of those songs you named (Outside of No Brainer) are pretty solid songs, and all caught on early with great streaming/youtube out the gate. I Did It is not good at all, and is barely a month out and it's been out of top 200 Spotify, 100 on Apple Music, etc. for a while already. Its Sales are also weak and the Youtube is ok. Keep in mind that It's been the The Intro song for the NBA Playoffs for a couple weeks now, and that seems to have failed at giving it any life. I say no chance it becomes a real hit. For once, not a golden take from your part... /s (for me, most DJ Khaled tunes are the definition of uninspired and manufactured to become hits out of name recognition, despite the artists sounding thoroughly uninvested. "Wild Thoughts" in particular feels derivative with the lazy sampling, and features some embarrassing lyrics. "I DID IT", on the other hand, feels like a welcome improvement in my opinion, and while one could argue Post could have done better, Meg and the Babies deliver great, focused, and on-topic verses) You're entitled to your opinion, though, and you're right that the song doesn't look likely to become a hit so far given how quickly it left Spotify and Apple Music. I just brought it up out of curiosity, but mostly to shift away from yet another tired BTS-related fight. 😄 Yeah I can see your point 😅. I personally think the production is muddled and Post's vocals are mixed pretty poorly, but to each their own. You're right in that all of his songs are definitely manufactured to become hits, but I've accepted that that's just who DJ Khaled is. He doesn't really add much contribution wise so he has to rely on other people's name recognition, which I have no real problem with if he turns out fun pop-rap songs. The bad lyrics on Wild-thoughts don't bother me much because the beat is nice, Rihanna has infinite charisma, and the sample, while definitely not creatively utilized, comes from a great song.

Make that Top 11: Blinding Lights will never go away, although SYT almost ruined it. At this rate, BL will outlast SYT on radio.

Was there some sort of minor audience re-calibration on Mediabase today? I noticed a surplus of general gains for a lot of songs, and most songs that are losing didn't take as big of hits as in previous days.

June 13, 202003 04 Blinding Lights - The Weeknd lol, you can never get rid of this one. One year later, in its 78th charting week, BL is going to move up 6 spots to #16 due to a boost it got from the iHeartRadio awards during the first day of the tracking week:

Hmm, not sure if it's because of Memorial Day Weekend (not saying I think it's NOT the reason, I just don't know how that would work), though gikem's original assertion could also be correct, which is generally often the case when there are gains or losses for every song across the board.

I truly wonder when or even if good 4 u will back to 1, it managed to close the gap with Butter a little bit on airplay1 but Butter's sales are just so much better than good 4 u. It'll come down to me when the sales start to drop.
Also, quite unfortunate that Sun Goes Down will be dropping this week, it's an amazing and LNX's best song to date.

It's the effect of Memorial Day Weekend special programming falling off the rolling tracking week. Hmm, not sure if it's because of Memorial Day Weekend (not saying I think it's NOT the reason, I just don't know how that would work) What do you mean? It's a pretty simple idea. On Memorial Day Weekend, American radio stations will often flip to themed playlists, usually to the exclusion of their currents. For example, my local Active Rock played all 70s and 80s, while the AC played all 90s. As those days fall out of the 7-day period in favor of the most recent days, when stations have changed back to their normal playlists, currents across the board rise as a result. It's basically like a miniature Christmas freeze.

Why did Evermore get a big boost this week? My guess is that the vinyls shipped. However, I believe that Taylor released Evermore way too soon after Folklore. That definitely hurt the longevity of Folklore.
