Who cares about a #1 on the Hot 100 when she'll have like 10 Top 40 songs again, this is insane

Honestly, I donβt care. I love her album and also Butter. Itβs grown on me. I may or may not have also just bought a copy of it on iTunes
Still a good day in music for both artists

I think this week is more exciting than what just happened last week. Curious to see how Olivia holds up.

No, race has nothing to do with this. Everyone thinks itβs always about race. Hip hop is frowned upon because they glorify gang violence or just being a POS. Listen to the song and youβll figure out theyβre talking about the people that they actually killed. This type of music is horrible for the younger generation because they slowly become like it. I would know because I used to listen to rappers who were misogynistic and before you knew it I was also hella misogynistic and when I realized that I stopped listening to it. You are what you listen to. People like to give BTS hate but at least they keep it wholesome. Before you call me racist I also donβt listen to white artists who rap like this. My favorite kind of music is Bruno Mars oldies. (Just the way you are, Grenade) say no to gang violence! Stop glorifying it. Maybe youβre right. All those years of listening to Eminem and loving many of his songs, I still hate gays, think women should be beat, and spit in disgust every time I think of my mother. I'm happy for you! I would have thought for some reason you weren't all that young when Eminem was huge and had your own mind back then. You had good influences around you and that's great. But, yes music does affect a lot of the youth around this country. Perhaps parents should be watching their kids closer but unfortunately that doesn't always happen and the "cool" rappers influence them. If you don't believe that then that's fine. I'm not here to argue about that. On this topic we both agree to disagree.

damn pulse has become even more infuriating than stan twt at this point.
i peek at the threads looking for info about this weekβs chart and 80% of the posts are either armys being insufferable OR pulse members being just as insufferable back. stop responding to each other and stop talking about bts for the entire threads.... like why canβt all of yall discuss them moderately like ither artists.
like can i PLEASE get to know how Kiss Me More is doing or if my favorite SOUR track is showing Single potential, without having to scroll past 5 pages of shade/whining? good GOD

Kiss Me More is rising again....which is your favorite Sour track again? I'm pretty partial to Brutal myself as far as the album tracks go.

The new Baby/Durk is #17 on AM after a day not sure if it will be THAT huge, but a bit of album bomb I guess. Well none of the singles from "The Voice" initially cracked the top 60 when they debuted (title track at 62, "Stay Down" w/ 6LACK & Young Thug at 92) yet it still ended up being a decent-sized album bomb.
Though with "My Turn", with both "Woah", "Sum 2 Prove", and "Heatin' Up" ft. Gunna debuting in the top 20 (and I guess "The Bigger Picture" if you count the deluxe's reissue(???)) + "We Paid" ft. 42 Dugg reaching it later on (going top 10, even) the bombs were still massive in both cases: I'm sure many remember the My Turn/YHLQMDLG and DLDT/My Turn Deluxe weeks for being super chaotic.
The consensus is that it will dominate AM, which is a given since both of them since both of them absolutely dominate the platform (just look at the "Top Videos" section over there :rip:)
2/4 of their charting collabs went top 40 already (with "Off White VLONE (#54)" and "3 Headed Goat" (#43) being the outliers).
While it may not be as big as "My Turn", it'll still be pretty impactful regardless

I'm pretty partial to Brutal myself as far as the album tracks go. i donβt think KMM can go #1 for a few weeks at least but i want it to stick around for the summer and maybe peak later on with additional promo (kinda like Watermelon Sugar but more subtle lol). and my favorite Sour tracks are Brutal and Jealousy, Jealousy. iβm really curious as to how Brutal would do given the push, but with how good Traitor is doing, it might just not happen lol. Traitor is a mid track for me, kinda wouldβve preferred some other tracks over it but oh well, weβll see

I just don't see those 2 songs going anywhere for a while. KMM will likely end up with a #3 peak.

I'm not here to argue about that. On this topic we both agree to disagree. I'm not going to deny that music can't influence character - there is science to prove that people can be influenced by the media they consumer - but when it comes to committing actual violence and crimes, it's been scientifically proven that the art that person consumes has little to do with these decisions. People have used this same argument about video games when trying to find a cause for school shootings and it's been proven time and time that it's simply a scapegoat to avoid talking about the social environment that have more of an impact on them. tl;dr: Social behavior is not math. Someone doesn't become a gang member just because they consume a lot of trap music.

BTS has to be the worst thing to happen to music since Cher Lloyd Please...let's not do this. Firstly because it's factually wrong (6ix9ine and Kodak Black exist), but also because it's deliberately provoking stans and resulting in more toxicity in the thread. Can BTS' Army be exhausting to interact with? Absolutely. But the same applies to Arianators, Swifties, and Barbz, so their fanbase shouldn't influence your opinions on the group. Let's not make Pulse a BTS hate circlejerk. It's pathetic, especially since they are very talented and have made several good tunes. ( also, Cher Lloyd is overhated - "Swagger Jagger" might be lame and "Want U Back" might be immature, but "I Wish" and "Sirens" are great songs, and she always delivered in her music videos) Kiss Me More is rising again....which is your favorite Sour track again? I'm pretty partial to Brutal myself as far as the album tracks go. I was thinking "Kiss Me More" could be a contender for Song of the Summer, but I'm not so confident anymore. I do think it can still re-peak, though. As far as album tracks go, my current favorites are "traitor", "jealousy, jealousy", and "hope ur ok". Really enjoy "brutal" as well, and it was the perfect way to open the album.

I am lowkey rooting for Build a Bitch to be a hit with some longevity. I don't even like the song but the entertainment factor of a TikToker making a Top 40 hit and being on the year-end list is gonna be interesting to see.

It's going to be funny to have a Melanie Martinez type song being a hit when the actual one never charted. π Even better since Bella Poarch doesn't use disturbing aesthetics and isn't an alleged rapist.

I want to say the worst thing to happen would've been Travis, since I want to say HITR was the first bundled-number one. But then Barbz took it to the next level with Say So, and then BTS with Dynamite (they got multiple weeks off of it).

He hasn't been nicknamed Bundle Scott here for no reason π But yeah, as far as taking advantage of current chart rules, Travis was the first to do so, absolutely (at least the first one to do it successfully).

It opened with close to 4M on US Spotify, likely because it was the first major solo Travis Scott release post-Astroworld. Nicki and BTS just do not have that pull right now, so theyβre more reliant on their stans to put them over the top.

BTS are already doing well on US pop radio (with their English songs that is, even though their Korean output is usually better)

Bighit Music that BTS is under is indeptended private company separated from the rest. It's completely diffente branch. He didn't said a word about Butter or BTS at all. Go after all those american artists who only chart because of payola. They deserve to finally have hits on radio after all those years.

US Spotify - 05/31/21
Biggest Gains (50K+): Chicken Fried Wait, the Zac Brown Band song? I don't see it on your list but caught this mention. I guess because of Memorial Day celebrations.
