Perhaps it would be worthwhile to consider the sort of balance between radio, sales, and streaming that one would want for a chart that genuinely reflects music consumption and that works against manipulation, based on data that is accessible to the general public. If this could be done, one could very easily construct a better music chart than the BB Hot100 operates, to say nothing of the RS charts, and discuss how things look there. If BB doesn't like other people doing its chart better, how about providing some genuine competition to it.

Wait, is olivia rly gonna have the #1 best selling album of the year and #1 AND #2 songs of the year? WHAT it's early to tell for the album, we're still waiting for Drake, Ed, (Billie Eilish?) and Post Malone. as for the songs, I don't think so. but G4U and DL will be in the top 10 most likely.

Honestly wouldn't mind airplay being removed from the formula. Yes, there are still certain genres (such as country) where radio is important. But in those cases, the genre-specific airplay charts are often used over the Hot 100 to gauge popularity/success anyway. Those artists tend to care more about how well a song does on Mediabase or the Billboard genre-specific charts then they do about its performance on the Hot 100.

DL is already the best selling song of the year, and G4U seems to have better longevity right now, but we'll see how it continues to hold. Very likely it will catch up to the current #2 song as it's not far behind with the way it's gaining. If the drake album is released at the end of the summer like he says i highly doubt it'll outsell sour, considering the fact that sour is continuing to smash almost a month later. Billie is definitely not a threat and there's no sign of post. I really think olivia's got it all in the bag!

I think Levitating will be the #1 song of the year. It's not beating DL for sure at this rate considering DL is over 1m ahead in sales and is still getting higher weekly totals, but it's debatable against good 4 u That moment when you immediately realize how sorely needed TOTC's predictions are. Levitating passed DL (and also Save Your Tears and Blinding lights) in points on their 2021 YE prediction list some time last month and was only two or three more weeks out from passing Mood for the #1 spot. DL is now lower on the Hot 100 and earning less points each week than Levitating currently is, so the gap is widening and unless Levitating has a sudden and rapid fall out of the top 15 while DL is still hanging in there, DL will not pass it again. The only threat to Levitating's #1 YE status now is its own longevity. I do think DL will be in the YE top 5, though. Good 4 U is the Olivia single that is getting higher totals than Levitating now, but it was released too late to realistically be in contention for #1. Strong contender for top 10. ...unless, of course, Billboard decides to change their methodology (again) without revealing exactly how said methodology was reached (as usual bc they never explain their reasoning) and suddenly we have a YE #1 that isn't Levitating. That would be very ugly and I'd officially stop reading these Hot 100 threads forever if it did bc I can't imagine what a mess that would be.

Clearly an organic hit. Not a failure in billboards system. Very much not a fraudulent number one. Clearly the most popular song in the country despite it being outta the top 100 on apple music and being outstreamed by nearly 2m. Good job Billboard π€ͺ Edit - Yeah this is unbearable to watch all summer

is it true that a*my is being audited by paypal? lol edit: not them registering as a nonprofit so they can say it's all "donations" π The way so many of you is spaying armys like they are some kind of celebrities. If you already posted it I tell you all why it's happening. At the beggining of this year army twitter was fighting crypto currency accounts who were paying some big (like 100K followers) army accounts to promote their "giveaways". When everything get out in the open, they left us for some time. Now they are trying to go back again becaus we are huge. One super shady person send $10k for no reason to this donation account and another one that raise money for UK charts. They didn't want some shady money, so they returned it and also some army exposed the whole shame behind this person and their 20 companies they "work". So that dude got mad and reported them to paypal. But it's not the only paypal account they have so don't celebrate too soon.
