Drake on the Hot 100 so far this year: 1. What's Next 2. Wants and Needs 3. Lemon Pepper Freestyle 12. Solid 12. Seeing Green 15. Having Our Way. Only J. Cole and Olivia Rodrigo (9 each) have scored more top 20 hits this year. You could probably throw Laugh Now Cry Later in there too since it was technically Top 20 in 2021

There's just something about the opening couple of lines. I dont understand the hype around Wants and Needs either. The whole " gotta lotta Ms on my mind" just sounds weird to me.

by a single group now! also, BTS is the longest #1 debut by a single group with at least 7 members.

I guess no other artists involved, like Mariah with Boyz II Men.

Updated chart runs for this week's top 10 (+ Blinding Lights): BTS - "Butter"1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - Olivia Rodrigo - "Good 4 U" 1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 1 - FTFY. Good 4 u beat Butter on all metrics this week (except for a half day of mass buying), and gets the #1 in my book.

You'd be in the minority there lol. I don't mind What's Next (I listen to it when I'm working out and it does the trick for me). It's also ringing out in parties and clubs these days but Wants and Needs is simply a better song all-around. Then again, everyone's taste is different so there's that.

I actually enjoy What’s Next, it’s on my honorable mentions for the best hits of 2021.

And super ironic how they sure don't care at all about taking any extra time to verify such a close call. I think this happened last week as well, the chart reveal has come out about an hour sooner than usual. Yet for the Dua/Silk Sonic battle, it took them 2 days to audit a few extra questionable sales. Aren't we talking about different situations, though? No one's really questioning the legitimacy of the BTS sales under Billboard's rules ... they're questioning whether those types of sales (or sales in general) accurately reflect the song's popularity/success. I thought the issue with past "audits" was whether the sales even met Billboard's existing criteria for legitimacy.

The only thing that doesn't meet Billboard's existing criteria for legitimacy is Butter being named the #1 for this week. Good 4 u has Butter beat in every other metric this week, with the obvious exception of a half day of mass buying. Butter may have been the #1 the last 3 weeks (and this is debatable), but what is clear as day is the fact that G4u was the #1 song of the 6/26 charting week.

Decided not to look at this thread until now because I didn't want to deal with another week of useless BTS discourse (and also because I had a rather busy day today), so I'll just say this for the debuting songs if it hasn't been said yet: I wasn't expecting Migos to underperform as much as they did in terms of their number of debuting songs. I was expecting at least a couple of the other cuts from Culture III to show up in the 90s instead of You(!), Fiel, and 1-2 other Polo G songs.

To be honest, I thought G4U never hit #1, based on everyone's reaction to Butter.

by a single group now! also, BTS is the longest #1 debut by a single group with at least 7 members. Where is the tweet announcing its record as the longest #1 via fan group manipulation through web site sales?

But this is the same era where he literally debuted and occupied the top 3 at the same time, and so far all his features hitting top 15, so i think it’ll probably be more huge than Scorpion.
