Billboard would probably welcome that anyway - lots of charts to compete with Billboard have come and gone, in the end it ay be hard to topple a chart with 80 years of history

Doesn't Gary have a subscription with Billboard? It probably skipped his mind that not everyone does. Oh, true. He has mentioned having one before I think. The f5 trick still works too, but just the fact one has to use a trick to see the chart lets you know that info is not intended to be widely used or disseminated. I stand by my original assertion that TOTC should launch their own chart. BB basically deaded all the things that made TOTC stand out from other predictors. I don't have subscription but I use an adblock and can see all of their charts (the ones I'm interested like Top 40, Adult Pop, Rhythmic, Alternative, etc) I've been watching their charts for free on the internet since 2003 so not gonna pay for that now, nope, lol. |

While I am glad Lukas and the team will be able to post predictions, I am bummed out the data and stats will still be gone, even if I understand it from a legal perspective.

Didn't I see some BTS fan account saying they needed to organize and buy at least 113k this week? That prediction is only gonna fuel that need to waste money even more lol.
But I do hope g4u finally returns to #1.

Billboard should hire everyone involved and have them revamp that god awful website. For sure. Their website sucks. Ngl, if I need any chart I just search for it on this forum and it's always a much easier read. |

We’re halfway through June now and Heat Waves is still not a top 20 hit. Hopefully it’ll keep rising on radio, it seems to have incredible longevity with streaming so far having been in the top 20 on Spotify most weeks for a while now. I really thought the “late nights in the middle of June” like would boost this song right about now though.

Knowing how radio works here in the US, I fully expect this to peak in the fall, long after Butter and Good 4 u are done battling for the top. Remember a few years ago, Someone You Loved went to #1 here in November, even though it was smashing outside North America during the spring. |

TOTC should make their own chart replacing Billboard. Never apologize to any person who legally threatened you and tried to stop you from making a bit of money just for corporatist reasons.
When Billboard tried to do a cease and desist on TOTC, they stopped having any appeal to chart watchers. They hate people who follow music and watch the charts. They love people who spend their life savings to see their favorite artist go #1 on an arbitrary chart, as well as domestic terrorists, insurrectionists, and pdf-files. Billboard can rank any order of songs from 1 to 100 based on an arbitrary set of criteria. Billboard should’ve communicated their chart formula and made it public, so that any chart fraud can be seen. But no, it had to be leaked for the general public for the general public to see chart fraud. For example, I’m sure that Snowflakes didn’t have anywhere close to the points required to be #71, but it charted at that position due to favoritism. Same with all BTS songs. Also, the fact that most of their charts are paywalled is a garbage thing. Those two things show their hate of the average music listener.

I was just about to start work when TOTC tweeted that thread, so I’m just catching up now. Glad at least their Twitter is coming back, and that they’re still allowed to make predictions there. Unfortunately, I don’t expect the website to come back in the same way. This probably includes the GOAT list, which was easily my favorite feature on the site.
I still maintain that I’m not gonna be using the Hot 100 from this point forward as my main chart source, though I will still follow along with Year-End predictions and the content creators I like who do track and analyze the Hot 100, past and present. I would just prefer to follow my own path at this point.
