We have had releases since Butter and Good 4 u, but there is nothing out there that has a serious chance of challenging them for the Top 2. I donβt see that changing unless a big-named artist like Drake, or a new BTS single, is released. Butter/Good 4 u have a chance to beat the AATB/SIO 1-2 record (which I believe is 11 weeks).

Here's one of the new releases to look at, it's a fine song, Tate sounds better here than she does on you broke me first but I don't know how it'll impact the charts.

New tate song is alright. Nowhere near as good as You, which I still think should've been a bigger hit

Of course, it can depend on how the song resonates with the GP, though "Afterglow" was more of an outlier due to its lowkey sound. Ed's two previous lead singles both debuted within the top 2, so he's definitely a contender to challenge "Butter" and "good 4 u".

This looks like Ed Sheeran's interpretation of the Weeknd's vampire schtick.

Watched Inside yesterday, not sure if a lot of the songs will hold up on repeat listens or away from the film but if any song should be immortalized as a comedy classic, it should be this

I meant he needs to be number 1 on a regular basis . Iβm fan girling First off let me start by saying this was random ass hell and if you want see him just follow the UK charts, since they don't have any recurrent rules, Mr. Brightside has been allowed to chart there forever

Feels like there hasnβt been big releases since Sour and Butter. Next week we'll be getting Doja Cat's "Planet Her" album (including a single with The Weeknd) as well as Ed Sheeran's comeback to shake things up. This week could have led to something with Polo G, Migos, and Lorde's comeback, but nothing had as much staying power as expected. Another big release next week

How does maroon 5 always manage to have a f**king hitβ¦ especially when itβs badβ¦ memories and beautiful mistakes are not bad..and the band scores hits since 2002 so it's not surprising...they won't stop!

I saw them live in San Francisco in 2013 and they were MAGNIFICENT.

I think I enjoy Killers singles more than albums (wasn't wild about their album last year at all) but I think Sam's Town is good. When We Were Young is still my favorite Killers song of all time

When We Were Young is still my favorite Killers song of all time I agree , their albums have some unfortunate choices . I think they are amazing live and even the not so good songs sound good . Brandonβs solo singles like Crossfire and Canβt deny my love are absolute perfection

Maroon 5 can keep on getting hits, but most people will never forgive them for blocking Gangnam Style and Lucid Dreams from #1.

that's even if Billboard runs their Summer charts. We're 4 chart weeks into Summer and the Summer charts have still not been updated Here's why:
By Billboard Staff 6/16/2021
The partnership includes the Songs of Summer Galaxy NFT, which will give Galaxy owners early access to the weekly chart.
Billboard and Samsung are teaming up for the 2021 Songs of the Summer chart, which will return to Billboard.com on June 22.
The 20-position Songs of the Summer chart tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100 from Memorial Day through Labor Day (this year encompassing charts dated June 12 through Sept. 11). At the end of the season, the top song of the summer will be revealed.
As part of Samsung's Summer of Galaxy celebration, Galaxy owners will have exclusive access to preview the Songs of the Summer chart a day before it's released to the public each week, starting June 21, by redeeming the Songs of Summer Galaxy NFT, an animated image of the weekly chart created by Fanaply.
In addition to the Songs of the Summer chart, Galaxy owners will also get a three-month Billboard Pro membership, which includes access to all of Billboard's 250+ charts, 24/7 breaking news, timely deep dives, expert commentary and more.
DaBaby's "Rockstar," featuring Roddy Ricch, wrapped at No. 1 on Billboard's 2020 Songs of the Summer chart, after ruling the tally for 13 of the 15 tracking weeks last year. Rounding out the 2020 Songs of the Summer top five: The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" (No. 2); Jack Harlow's "Whats Poppin," featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne (No. 3); Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage," featuring BeyoncΓ© (No. 4); and SAINt JHN's "Roses" (No. 5).

Not to mention it's ridiculous to blame Maroon 5 rather than the GP or Billboard's rules. It's like when people hated on Bruno Mars, Macklemore, or Billie Eilish for winning at the Grammys over more deserving acts (definitely for Bruno and Macklemore, debatable for Billie). They didn't choose to win, and it's beyond childish to attack them instead of targeting the Recording Academy.

So they'd rather do an NFT and have another gate for content rather than make their website easier to navigate for newcomers. Brilliant, and not at all indicative of why TOTC was so successful.

Billboard deserves the blame for the Gangnam Style fiasco for not implementing streaming into the formula earlier. But when LD got blocked, no one was giving M5 the benefit of the doubt.

.....we just had Polo G and Migos drop albums to modest impact, plus comeback singles for Lorde, Clairo, Megan, a new single with Doja, and Bad Bunny debuted in the Top 10 this week We even had a Lil Durk/Lll Baby album bomb this week, plenty of things had impacted the Hot 100 the past few weeks.Β Should have clarified, major pop debuts. I like Lorde but her single isnβt doing much damage.
