I watched some YouTube reviews on her Yitty shapewear brand. The line actually looks really cute. She's tapped into a business segment that few other celebs have been able to, and hopefully this gives her a lot of success outside music!

this trend of artists being too lazy to sign/autograph but wanting to rake in the same cash is so annoying lol. last year it was "Billie Eilish splattered paint on all these album covers" and this year it's "Lizzo dumped glitter on them all by herself". what's next, "Doja Cat hit her vape and exhaled on these"?

I know plenty of people who would love to have an album covered in glitter that Lizzo's hands touched. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's not even glitter she's touched though, it's glitter from a bottle she's (allegedly) touched and randomly scattered around without giving each copy attention. with even less way of proving that it's "authentically glittered by Lizzo" than a signature. I don't know, something about it feels scammy to me. like it's as bad as an artist forging the autographs, but there's no way of knowing in this case. I'm sure people are buying it. and I'm sure there are even more fakes of this than autographed copies being sold online. less effort & authenticity from the artist = less effort for scammers online to sell replicas. |

I thought the point is to make each copy of the record a bit more unique and less samey? After all, records these days are essentially collectables. If it's done simply in lieu of a signature, then it's a pretty stupid concept.
