L.A. singer-songwriter Otis Kane got his start in the industry working for legendary producer Nellee Hooper after dropping out of college. From there, he transitioned to musical director for Capitol artist Lolene (remember her? Me either) and then opened his own studio, STRZ Enterprises, which led to working relationships with the likes of Nick Jonas, Wiz Khalifa, and Julia Michaels. He then transitioned again to full-time producing, working most notably with Pink Sweat$, and branched out into recording music of his own. After getting placements in projects like Queen Sugar, Good Trouble, Hair Love, and Angry Birds 2, he finally released his debut album, Purple BLUE, last month.
Amber Mark is another SoundCloud success story as the songs she started uploading in 2016 caught the attention of record execs overseas and led to a deal with PMR/Virgin EMI. She released her critically acclaimed debut, 3:33am, in 2017. Competition is her 12th single inside of the last three years; no word on when the sophomore album will finally arrive.
