The whole Butter vs Good 4 U thing I know, Good 4 U is an 8 week number one and song of the summer and Butter was a flash in the pan hit that debuted top 10 and was off the chart in 4 weeks. No need to keep talking about it

Talk of the Charts "Am I The Only One" by @aaronlewismusic is projected to debut in the top 15 on this week's Hot 100, the highest new entry on the chart. Sales make up ~82% of its chart points, the highest proportion since "Iris" last year which was only available to download.
Oh lord. Did a bunch of maga people on twitter tell each other to mass buy to 'fight the lefty commie system' or something?

No Song should be able to Debut in the Top 15 of the Hot 100 if over 80% of that Songs Points come from Sales. This is why the Sales weight needs to be lowered to prevent a mostly Sales driven song like "Am I The Only One" to Debut that high.

While I don't like the song, I don't see much the issue with high sales-driven songs charting any more than one that only really has radio or streaming.

I can only hope it will collapse out of the charts entirely in the next week or two like most heavily sales-driven hits. And even if BTS can skirt past this on a weekly basis, at least they still have some streaming and radio on their side.

Yeah it's (with two versions) already selling less than half of what Fancy Like is selling, which should put it between 10-15k weekly sales and borderline to charting.

If you agree with drem, you're totally clueless. drem is clearly wrong here, and I am right. Besides, if you guys think the Hot 100 rankings and its metrics are completely subjective, then why do you even bother posting on these Hot 100 threads? The Hot 100 is supposed to be a measure of the popularity of songs based on 3 metrics: sales, streaming, and radio. If you guys do not like that, then post somewhere else, preferably in a chart thread where those metrics don't matter.

Am I The Only One is a bad song, but it’s def a more legit “hit” than Butter is this week. 59k sales and it’s probably 50k+ people who bought it as opposed to less than 10k people buying Butter (and the Am I The Only One’s buyers are the only demographic that stills uses bought music as their primary form of consumption, it’s bought to be listened to not to have 480 copies sitting on your computer)

Per mikerivera, here is the breakdown of that 2011 chart:
1. Party Rock Anthem 34,000 ($-259k; R-115m) 2. Give Me Everything 31,091 ($-192k; R-150m) 3. Rolling in the Deep 28,181 ($-150k; R-160m) 4. Last Friday Night 26,364 ($-206k; R-84m) 5. Super Bass 23,323 ($-169k; R-87m) 6. The Edge of Glory 19,677 ($-118k; R-96m) 7. E.T. 18,454 ($-94k; R-109m) 8. How to Love 16,909 ($-128k; R-58m) 9. Good Life 15,455 ($-111k; R-59m) 10. Tonight Tonight 15,273 ($-128k; R-40m)
Keep in mind that both radio and sales were valued significantly less in the formula than they are today, and under the current formula, Party Rock Anthem would have over 70k points.

Why can’t we give the same energy to Save Your Tears. What about You Right? There’s other Abel songs too you know why is it always BL even though its still my favorite out of the 3, but come on. BL is you know, the biggest song in history, so it makes sense that it would dominate the conversation about Abel even though he has many other massive hits.

My guess is Taylor Swift, but we did have Old Town Road as the longest running #1 hit a couple years ago. OTR is more country than any of TS's #1 hits.
