Yo does anyone have any idea who βmike.β is and know why heβs topping the iTunes album charts right now? Iβve never heard of this man in my life and it made me think the experimental rapper MIKE was topping iTunes for a second The only reason I know him is because of his collab with Bea Miller a few years ago. I know he's been gaining a small following since then, but I too am surprised his album was able to top the iTunes chart. But then again, how easy is it to do that nowadays? π I really enjoy his newer track "so sick" which does indeed sample the Ne-Yo hit. Shocked to see it isn't on the album despite being released only like 2 months ago. Seems like everyone is sampling that song lately. From Pop Smoke (the label mostly), to The Kid Laroi (itβs an old song but still its part of his compilation anyways) to mike. |

Between the three formats I can think of to check, 'Heat Waves' has maybe 9-10 mill. AI all told? I'd reckon it's in no position to experience what 'Levitating' did.

Levitating had a huge GRAMMYs performance, buzz, massive streaming surge, massive viral tiktok trend, big sales surge making it the most sold single in 2021 sans bots, radio just couldn't avoid it tbh. Heat Waves has a very nice streaming boost but it's not an inescapable impact per se that would make radio have to play it. |
