and there Kanenrá:ke loses his lowest remaining rank, which was the last rank lower than 28 remaining! In the remaining 13 songs there are only 6 ranks that are lower than 20! Most everyone agreed that these 13 songs were among Pam's best! up next a #1 will be lost...

and there goes Pam's only #1 hit of her career! It's always been surprising to me that this is the only song of hers that reached the top of the charts
Only 2 more reveals left to get to the top 10!

Well, bboat11 and myself got four of the five songs correct! I still remain a bit puzzled as to why "Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)" remains a bit on the polarizing side here on Pulse, though. While I do remember the song having a lot of buzz back during the Sweetheart's Dance era, it's still hard to believe that was her only #1 hit at country radio. Anyways, I can't complain too much as I still have nine of my top 10 songs remaining! What are you surprised made the Top 10? "It's Lonely Out There" as I thought it would be one to exit beforehand. What are you most shocked missed the Top 10? With the exception of maybe one or two songs, nothing actually comes to mind as the top 10 looks about as I thought it might What 5 songs do you expect to see leave before the Top 5? Considering I thought it would leave before the top 10, I'm going to have to go with "It's Lonely Out There" along with "Don't Tell Me What To Do", "Let That Pony Run", "In Between Dances", and "When You Walk In the Room" exiting just shy of the top 5. Given that, here are the songs I expect to be in the top 5: Shake The Sugar Tree The River and the Highway Spilled Perfume All The Good Ones Are Gone Maybe It Was Memphis

Sad to see myself as the only one to put "Deep Down" in their top 10 and thus for it to come up just a few positions shy. :/
This is an excellent top 10 though.

What are you surprised made the Top 10? For me, it is The River And The Highway What are you most shocked missed the Top 10? I love Mi Vida Loca and Cleopatra so I wish those two had made Top 10 What 5 songs do you expect to see leave before the Top 5? Hopefully it is: The River And The Highway, It's Lonely Out There, Don't Tell Me What To Do, In Between Dances, and When You Walk In The Room. Hopefully the Top 5 is: Maybe It Was Memphis, Shake The Sugar Tree, Let That Pony Run, Spilled Perfume, and All The Good Ones Are Gone.
But overall this has gone pretty much as I had expected. All great songs left!

Oh wow...I was not expecting "All The Good Ones Are Gone" to be the first song out in the top 10. I certainly didn't see that coming!

I figured that "It's Lonely Out There" was on borrowed time just as we entered the top 10, so I was anticipating its exit at any moment. Still kinda surprised this outlasted "All the Good Ones Are Gone", but it looked to be rather close either way.

"In Between Dances" is such a perfectly executed song all around and one that was so well-suited for Pam. And that chorus

accidentally posted before adding the second song since #8 and #7 tied.
Definitely sad to see "Don't Tell Me What To Do" miss the Top 5 as I've always loved that one but I'm not surprised either. Everything remaining is amazing!

As we headed into the top 10 I meant to add that I was anticipating the spread of points would be quite close and that seems to be the case (thus far anyways!). It'll be interesting to see if the trend continues into the top 5 as well.

ccarter1023 I still cannot believe your rank :'( "The River and The Highway" has long been one of my favorite songs from Pam and the one I thought I'd rank at #1 going into this but I had to vote for what I did vote for. This song is just haunting and beautiful. Should have been Top 5!

Hot damn if this isn't one of the most iconic top 5s/top 10s we've had in an artist rankdown in quite awhile Pam has so many incredible songs despite her rather brief relevancy with radio. Honestly this top 10 has gone just about perfectly so far too! It's like everything that is still here is SO iconic that I can't even begin to be mad about anything that has left... "One Of Those Things" barely missing out on the top 10 is painful for me, as I absolutely love the way Pam delivers that song. The way her voice is mixed low-key reminds me of a few Pat Benatar songs I have heard. In the early '90s, there really wasn't any big-name female who sang like Pam that I can think of. Her peers like Lorrie Morgan, Patty Loveless, Tanya Tucker, Suzy Bogguss, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Kathy Mattea all had much more limited ranges and lower voices. One of the things that draws me to Pam is the way that she can suddenly belt out high notes that you aren't really expecting, like that E5 in "it's all I can stand, but it's OOOOOUUUUUUUUUTTT of my hands!" with just a fascinating mix of raspiness and grit that is so uniquely "her". Even later in the decade when the bigger-voiced women burst onto the scene and the ability to hit high, powerful notes became pretty much a requirement, none of them usually hit those notes with the intensity that Pam does. That being said, her BEST unexpected E5 (from the bridge of "Spilled Perfume") is still remaining, so...

How is this going to all play out! Just you wait to see how this ends! I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that going into this I pretty much assumed "Maybe It Was Memphis" was going to be the runaway winner, but considering how close in points everything was inside the top 10 that may not be the case after all. Each one of the five remaining songs are all well-beloved and so I'm now anticipating a photo finish between all of them. I'd also wager that there may very well be a tie to be found in the mix. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if either the top 2 or top 3 songs are all tied! Anyhoots, here's my best guess at how the top 5 might play out: 5. Let That Pony Run 4. When You Walk In The Room 3. Shake The Sugar Tree 2. Spilled Perfume 1. Maybe It Was Memphis
