I'd kill for Tinashe to hopefully pull some inspiration from the experimental sounds of someone like Shygirl, hopefully the Heaven remix opened some more gateways for her. Like Tinashe on tracks like Shygirl's Firefly or Cleo would be so fire sonically. My ESPN might be working omfg |

She's an album artist, so releasing this EP is kinda bizarre to me tbh. And if she is splitting it into multiple pieces, it absolutely does not play to her strengths.
That being said, yeah, this is great. No skips found and she serves a nice blend of moods and bops. I remember being so mad when "Shy Guy" ended so abruptly, glad she's fleshing those sounds out here. Bring on the second part sis!

I'd rather get a condensed "album" that is skipless than an album with filler interludes and speeches. this is a perfect bite. has a bit of everything. love it. can't wait for what else is in store.
on a separate note, "Uh Huh" receives a music video tonight.

I love that Tinashe releases so frequently. I see some fans were apprehensive about the album rollout and it being a 7 track project.
But I appreciate that this isn't as lengthy as some of her other projects. No room for filler. I think it's solid! I enjoy that it's still in that realm of R&B and UK inspired music (drum n bass, correct?).
"Uh Huh" is my favorite!

I need to go back to her. Admittedly, I haven't paid THAT much attention to her since Nightride/Joyride and I had to go to Wikipedia to even see what the songs on those projects were. Aquarius remains my favorite project of hers, but since she is coming to Austin, I'm going to try to see her. Emo's is a cool venue - small, intimate club. I saw Gryffin there and also Jessie Reyez (it was supposed to be somewhere bigger but got downsized) and going to see Roosevelt there next month.

How I would rank the songs from this album...
1) Uh Huh - sexy, simple and Tinashe excels on trap production, every time.
2) Needs - I love the attitude and lyrics! The flirty and fun energy of the video is fitting.
3) None Of My Business - stuck in my head already.
4) Treason - great choice for an opening song.
5) Tightrope - the production and harmonies stand out for me.
6) Talk To Me Nice - I love the production and the switch up halfway.
7) Gravity - the harmonies and vocal stacking on this track are heavenly.

Can't lie, I'm disappointed the album didn't chart. The era seems very low key.
Chart success isn't everything to me, but I wish her music had more exposure and a higher profile.
The music is great and she's too talented to keep floating under the radar. Sigh.

The album is just a pleasant to listen to. It just flows and blends seamlessly.
I’ve given up on her having chart success. She won’t ever have that without a good team behind her. She seems happy being able to make the music she wants to make and satisfying her niche audience. So I’m content with that.

As an indie artist she's making richer sounding music than the girlies on labels, those Machinedrum production efforts on this album are insaaanely good. Her mv game still popping if Bouncin, X, and Needs are anything to go by, so much respect for her to pull it off without a label and even outclass everything she did while she had RCA's (admittedly minimalist) backing.
