WAP is still the best no. 1 of the 2020s so far. You just can't beat a song that has the lyric "I want you to touch that lil' dangly thing that swing in the back of my throat"

I keep saying it .. there is such a thing as overexposure . They all need to pull an Adele and disappear between eras . No matter how good the songs are , the GP can feel saturated by any specific artist But Abel did do that? Same with Bruno? Ed/Post? I donβt understand what this post is tryna say. Just because theyβre popping off insane now doesnβt mean that theyβre getting overexposed.. |

If Abel had a pre-launch campaign for this era like Kanye, who is all over the music and mainstream media, then it could be a red flag. Or if it was tied to the SB hype. Fact is, I only knew TMB was coming out because of Pulse. I'm sure I'm not alone. He has a solid and broad fanbase, they'll find him. He has! Simply not true to say otherwise. C'mon, "The Dawn is Coming" campaign, all the teasers for TMB, tied in to the Olympics, etc.?.. It was all over social and the mainstream media. They are in hardcore for this. |

I remember after Call out my name "underperformed" people swore The Weeknd was done then he scored the biggest Hot 100 hit of all time, as well as two more #1's.
So I guess this time round we are going to get six #1's and two of the biggest Hot 100 hits wowza.

Can I just say that the album art for "Take My Breath" is unbelievable? So well designed. I'm mostly ambivalent on Abel's stuff, but his team knows how to craft an aesthetic.

I don't know if Take My Breath is too electronic pop for his "old" fans? That said, that Belly song (Better Believe) is basically his lead, just not credited that way, and it hasn't done much on charts, so I guess it's a case of songs how well he does charts wise? BL and SYT are both jackpots and everyone likes them, can't see it happening with Take My Breath even though it's cool.
