I wish I lived in Manhattan to go more often whenever I want. I really like them. My favorite is Wicked. Have seen it three times and I'm sure sooner or later the 4th time will come. ;) Haven't seen many. I recall these: - Mamma Mia - Cabaret - Phantom of the Opera - Rent - Chicago - Mormon Book - Kinky Boots
The good thing is that there are always touring production companies and now when the covid thing calms down I should be able to have them again here in Austin, Texas.
A couple of years ago I fell in love with the soundtrack for Dear Evan Hansen. Have never seen the musical. Now the movie is coming out and unfortunately the reviews are bad.

While I wouldnβt say Iβm a huge fan of musicals nor am I super knowledgeable but I do love theatre. I did marketing for a local theatre company in my city for a couple years and it totally opened my eyes to the marvels of live productions! We did some some bigger shows like Beauty and the Beast and Once. My first show that I worked with was Shrek the Musical and Mamma Mia was my last a few years back. I saw it three times during the run and it introduced me to ABBA - who I now love! Iβve also been to Broadway a few times and saw shows like Phantom, Kinky Boots, Hedwig (when it was in previews with NPH), Wicked, Book of Mormon, Hot tin roof, Avenue Q, and a preview of a musical with Idina Menzel, If/Then. That had a short run. I donβt think it did well. I liked it but it definitely had some bugs to work out. I also saw a touring production of Les Mis in Massachusetts and Miss Saigon in Toronto about 10 or 11 years ago. The theatre company here has just reopened and Iβm going back this weekend to see a new play. Iβm so excited! I love the big spectacle of musicals but also love the storytelling that comes with smaller plays. Iβm never not impressed.

Pulse has a ton of gays, so of course there are gonna be a lot of broadway fans here. True now shoo Anyway going back to the topic, I haven't teen a ton of musicals sadly (off broadway or filmed adaptations) but I have been fortunate enough to watch a handful live, here are my thoughts: Wicked: My first broadway musical I ever saw and it was fun. I was a bit too young when I saw it to really understand or appreciate the theatrics of it all but it was entertaining. Les Miserables: I will say the first half of Les Mis is incredible, highly recommend it. The music, the story beats, the characters, the pacing of it all, I love it. The second half is...there. It's just there. I like Do You Hear the People Sing and On My Own at least. Lion King: Good. It's good, I think my favorite song might actually be 'He Lives in You' but aside from that, it's nice.

I just wanna state for the record that this is the worst kind of musical entertainment for me. Never have I gotten into musicals, or that genre of music, and I fuss about them when invited to go sit through one.
Only putting it out there because of the stereotypical comment posted above.
