Just a friendly reminder why Take My Breath has peaked on radio. And why Stay is still gaining. Still using callouts as an argument in 2021? They are fugazi. Countless songs have tanked with good callouts, same the other way around. They are almost irrelevant. But of course we can pretend radio guys care about callouts

39( +4) Oliver Tree - Life Goes On 421,798 ( +11,728) Why have God forsaken us... Y'know over the past few days of watching Life Goes On slowly climb up Spotify, something dawned on me that I'd never actually realized before and it took me awhile to accept... And that's Oliver Tree's not good.

I loathe Stay and change the station every time I hear Kid Laroi's dulcet tones on the radio, but not everyone is like me apparently.

As predicted (these predictions are from Ashres so they're reputable), My Universe debuts at #1 and STAY drops to #2 thanks to 24.8M STREAMS (presumable the third biggest on streams this week behind IB and W2S) and AN AUDIENCE OF 83.7M ON RADIO, AND NOT BECAUSE OF SOME STUPID ITUNES DISCOUNT UNLIKE WHAT SOME CHILD MAY BELIEVE

Looking at that reminds me how odd radio can be sometimes. I heard That's What I Want On The Radio yesterday evening and earlier this week while driving I heard a radio edit of Need To Know that reminded me of the late 90's when half the song was bleeped out.

Cedric's predictions are looking good: A new #1, Butter almost falling out of the Top 50, and Arcade going recurrent. What's not to like about this?

I know Franchise was an inorganic/illegitimate #1, but it’s funny how website sales was the determining factor in denying Dynamite a 4th week at #1.

at Franchise No one remembers it even after year. Just to think that it's M.I.A.'s only #1 instead of Paper Planes....

Franchise got so much unwarranted hate, particularly hip hop dudes on Twitter hating on MIA was rough to see considering how impactful she's been

Still mad at how Rihanna’s We Found Love completely killed Cheers from blowing up even more. They could have waited a couple weeks.

cheers didn't feel that big; it got to #5 in sales before dropping, even before wfl got big. But sales back then (and most of the time in general) always peak before airplay, so WFL could have easily eaten into its success and longevity, and I actually think Cheers was a better song than WFL, and kind of strange that they released the lead for her next album while the last single from her previous one was still peaking. They definitely should have let Cheers ride it out a little more.
