How did his previous one do on Spotify? He is obviously one of the most AM heavy acts out there, but the AM start isn't that good either. The album might not even reach 100k on Billboard in the end (unless it will be expanded as deluxe later this week). Well his last project (excluding that Quarantine Tape EP he did last year) was Championships, his biggest album to date so yeah, bit of a drop off to say the least

Just imagine the sales that a BTS remix of Tom MacDonald's single would get honestly probably pretty few, it'd be a pretty great way for both artists to piss off both fanbases lol

I hope this is just a throwaway, and just filler until Knife Talk is named the next single. If Drake pushes this as a single, it is going to ruin the momentum of CLB.

The fact that CLB has Knife Talk and Savage Mode 2 has Mr Right Now is just weird to me - they would make so much more sense on the other album!
I hope Drake pushes Knife Talk, two - GWG is pretty bad. At least do No Friends In the Industry or Fair Trade.

It would be funny to see GWG pushed given how fast its streaming is decreasing relative to the other big songs on the album.

Now that MONEY re-entered because of a TikTok trend inspired by Squid Game, might as well say watch Squid Game as soon as it's convenient for you or you're a coward. Don't care if you're not into gore. Don't care you don't consume a lot of foreign media and don't like looking at subtitles. This is mandatory viewing.

Well his last project (excluding that Quarantine Tape EP he did last year) was Championships, his biggest album to date so yeah, bit of a drop off to say the least Championships came out at a time when Meek was one of the bigger names in the media. He just came out of jail and reunited with Drake which did help the album gain a lot of attention and longevity. Thereβs also a range of A-C listers that were featured on the album at the time which also helped the album gain streams overall. Comparing this latest album to then, I would say Meek has about 40-50% left of what impact Championships had for him.

It would be funny to see GWG pushed given how fast its streaming is decreasing relative to the other big songs on the album. GWG is actually the second single off CLB. It officially impacted radio on the 28th of September and is already up to #20 on Urban radio and #24 on Rhythmic radio. All it needs now is a music video.

Phoebe Bridgers released a charity cover of Bo Burnhamβs βThat Funny Feelingβ on Bandcamp yesterday to support abortion rights in Texas.
I know it seems irrelevant, but her cover of βIrisβ with Maggie Rogers also seemed irrelevant until it debuted at 56.

Random, but I was just going through the Wikipedia page for Hot 100 achievements and it's crazy how underrated Janet Jackson's career has become as the years have passed. She is one of the biggest names in music history with the stats and numbers to back it up and maybe it's just me but she doesn't seem to get the same reverence as other legendary female musician icons.
She has 3 albums that each scored at least 5 top 10 hits (the only act, male/female/group to manage this): Control (1986): 5 top 10 hits Janet (1993): 6 top 10 hits Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989): 7 top 10 hits
In comparison with other female acts, Taylor Swift has 2 albums with 5 top 10 hits (Fearless & 1989), Fergie, Paula Abdul, Whitney Houston and Madonna each have 1 album with 5 top 10 hits namely The Dutchess, Forever Your Girl, Whitney and True Blue respectively. Katy Perry has 1 album with 6 top 10 hits (Teenage Dream) and that's about it.
Janet Jackson is also the only act in Billboard history to score 7 top 5 hits from 1 album. She's also one of only 5 female acts who have scored at least 10 Hot 100 #1 hits.
I know Michael is the big name that everyone praises and gives all the flowers to but it really sucks that somehow, Janet's name has gotten lost from the light, especially as time has passed. She's an absolute legend and her music has inspired dozens of artists.
Pardon the long post. Just felt like giving Janet her flowers because she's more than deserving and it's unfortunate that we don't do that more to the music legends we still have with us.

No no, it's fine. It's always worth recognizing how successful Janet is to a newer generation, especially as a black female act.
She's at least in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with her brother so at least she's not ostracized by the industry anymore.

Interesting that Adele would be using billboards, something we last noted with CLB's strategy to build hype. Billboards in multiple cities means lots of pics for the socials - ranging from those who have no clue what it means all the way to Stans eagerly looking for any shred of evidence. The billboards aren't the vehicle as much as a visual for the socials. I'm assuming that's the strategy

Preach!
I think she has mismanaged her career a bit though. We had some discussion about this in her artist thread.
