1990 was a little too generous in granting #1 songs. It feels a little Oprah-esque to me....

First extra for today was the lead single of her album Compositions. It peaked at #3 on the R&B chart.
Talk To Me - Anita Baker
Next, the first charted single by this singer from Seattle. Co-written and co-produced by Roland Orzabal of Tears For Fears, it peaked at #9 R&B.
Rhythm Of Life - Oleta Adams
After back-to-back R&B #1s, her next release in the US was this dance charttopper. It also peaked at #13 R&B and #21 on the Hot 100.
This Is The Right Time - Lisa Stansfield

Always liked Lisa Stansfield's "This is the Right Time" way more than the rest of her singles. Oh well....
Please God, no more singles to rank by The Boys in 1991.
List will be submitted in a few minutes, just giving it one more once over...
EDIT: Two final comments: Was surprised by my #2 submission, but damn it is catchy. The other big thought is the Michel'le got screwed! No More Lies and Nicety were WAY better than quite a few of these #1's.

First extra for today was the final Top 10 hit for this all-female band from LA, peaking at #4 on the R&B chart.
Good Love - Klymaxx
Next, the biggest hit for this group from New York. It peaked at #3 R&B and was later sampled in Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam's 1991 hit "Let The Beat Hit 'Em".
Ghetto Heaven - The Family Stand
Fun fact: members of The Family Stand had a big hand in crafting the songs for Paula Abdul's 1991 album Spellbound.
Next, a remake of a song first recorded by Taana Gardner in 1981. This female group from NYC took their version to #2 on the dance chart, #21 on the R&B chart, and #13 on the Hot 100.
Heartbeat - Seduction

First extra for today was the first charted single for this Harlem-born singer who was raised in Detroit. It peaked at #8 on the R&B chart.
Whatcha Gonna Do - Tyler Collins
The follow-up to "Whatcha Gonna Do" was her biggest hit, peaking at #8 R&B and #6 on the Hot 100.
Girls Nite Out - Tyler Collins
Finally, one of 5 Top 10 R&B hits for this singer from Jacksonville, peaking at #6. It would be a bigger hit later in the decade for the British group Eternal.
Stay - Glenn Jones

Sis, we're trying to get that song to #1 so it can appear on your future rankdowns in multiple years! LMAO.
Although, you right. We are jumping off with the 90's, and this disrespect should not be tolerated.

I am about to submit, but I ran out of time to really given attention to 4-5 songs, so they got tanked even though they may actually be great. Sorry not sorry.

So many all time classics! It wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy either. Besides my top 2, nothing in the top 10 is set. Positions subject to change with my mood. This is gonna be a bloodbath.

Sent mine in! One of the hardest rankdowns I've done. There were songs barely top 20 that would have been top 5 on a lot of other lists. One song I definitely put way too low, but I know a section here is going to rally around it so...
As for Janet, I think this is the first time I've put the songs here in reverse order. And I totally forgot that Come Back To Me had peaked at #2 on R&B, that would have been her highest entry for me.

Submitted! I love this list. A lot of discoveries for me; and I love almost all of them except my bottom 4s.
