Like I said in the Smokin Out The Window thread, A woman referring to another woman using the B word is ok, The real problem that I have with the usage of that word is when a man uses the B word to refer to a woman. I don't have an issue with the lyrics from that Meredith Brooks song since she is calling herself the B word. And yes context is obvious important, But men should never use that word whenever they are referring to a woman or women, Regardless of the context in which the word was being used.

What’s the point in choosing a single if it’s not going to be released until the album is out. What if another song overshadows it? Why not just wait to see what song is naturally getting the best reaction then start officially pushing that song.

It’s like when Nonstop/In My Feelings left Don’t Matter to Me (pushed as a single during album release) in the dust.

I think that method is only logical when an album has zero pre-release songs and they need to go into the release with a song immediately getting airplay (Folklore, CLB). Otherwise just wait after the albums first week tbh.

It can go both ways. Sometimes, choosing the second single in advance can work, sometimes a song on the album will catch on better with audiences and that would be the way to go for the single. Sometimes what song immediately connects the most with streaming audiences upon release week doesn't always translate to a successful radio-promoted single though, and right now with Adele's case in particular and particularly at this time of year, they have to act fast for the second single, because her inevitable huge first few weeks' album sales and streams will vastly eat into whatever post-album singles they promote, and they additionally have to worry about starting the single up as soon as possible at radio to avoid the Christmas freeze.

Taylor Swift's 'Enchanted' Streams Skyrocket Due to TikTok Trend

The song's streams have tripled in the last week -- and are still going up.

This Friday (Nov. 12), Taylor Swift will be taking audiences back to 2012, as she puts the spotlight on her classic Red album with the release of her re-recorded Red (Taylor's Version) -- along with several new bonus tracks, much anticipated by longtime fans. But this week, it's a deep cut from Red's predecessor, 2010's Speak Now, which has really been captivating listeners.

"Enchanted," Speak Now's centerpiece power ballad about a quick-developing romantic infatuation, has been spiking on streaming ever since the calendar page turned to November. As is often the case in 2021, that's largely due to it catching fire over that period as a TikTok audio -- with thousands of videos using the song's memorable "Please don't be in love with someone else/ Please don't have somebody waiting on you" bridge for a moment of emotional catharsis, sending folks to streaming services to listen to the full six-minute track.

For the seven-day period of Oct. 27 to Nov. 2, "Enchanted" notched 1.1 million U.S. on-demand audio streams, according to MRC Data. For the week following, from Nov. 3 to Nov. 9 -- the most recent day for which MRC has full data -- the song racked up 3.6 million audio streams, a gain of 228%. And the numbers are still rising: On Nov. 9 (this Tuesday), the song passed the single-day million-stream mark for the first time this month, with 1.3 million audio streams in total. (On Wednesday [Nov. 10], the song also entered the top 10 of Spotify's U.S. daily chart, reaching No. 9.)

"Enchanted" was never promoted as an official single from Speak Now upon the album's initial release in November 2010, though it still reached No. 75 on the Billboard Hot 100, immediately following the set's release week. Check back next Tuesday when the full Hot 100 (dated Nov. 20) updates on Billboard.com to see if the current spike for "Enchanted" allows it to pass its original ranking -- before the chart is potentially inundated with songs from the new Red (Taylor's Version) the week after.
