Adele Rules Hot 100 for Fourth Week; Post Malone & The Weeknd, Silk Sonic Debut in Top 10 By Gary Trust 11/15/2021 "Easy on Me" continues on top, while "One Right Now" debuts at No. 6, and "Smokin' Out the Window" blows in at No. 8. Adele's "Easy on Me" adds a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. Plus, Ed Sheeran boasts two simultaneous top five Hot 100 hits for the first time, as "Bad Habits" and "Shivers" rank at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. Meanwhile, two tracks debut in the Hot 100's top 10: Post Malone and The Weeknd's "One Right Now," at No. 6, and "Smokin' Out the Window" by Silk Sonic, the tandem of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, at No. 8. The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay, and sales data. All charts (dated Nov. 20) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Nov. 16). For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. "Easy on Me," released Oct. 14 on Columbia Records, drew 78.1 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 12%) and 23.6 million U.S. streams (down 8%) and sold 14,600 downloads (down 7%) in the Nov. 5-11 tracking week, according to MRC Data. The ballad leads the Streaming Songs chart for the fourth week, rises from No. 2 for a second week atop Digital Song Sales, and holds its No. 2 high on Radio Songs. Notably, the song is the first to simultaneously top two of the Hot 100's three component charts and rank as high as No. 2 on the other in exactly a year, since 24kGldn's "Mood," featuring iann dior, led both Radio Songs and Streaming Songs and held the runner-up spot on Digital Song Sales on the surveys dated Nov. 21, 2020. (No title has crowned all three tallies at the same time since Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber, for five weeks in July-August 2017.) The Kid LAROI and Bieber's "Stay" keeps at No. 2 on the Hot 100, after seven weeks at No. 1, as it leads Radio Songs for a ninth week (89.2 million, down less than 1%). Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow's "Industry Baby" repeats at No. 3 on the Hot 100, three weeks after it led the list. It adds a 12th week atop both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts, which use the same multi-metric methodology as the Hot 100. The track also ascends to No. 1 on the Pop Airplay chart, where it becomes Lil Nas X's second leader, after "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)," for a week in July, and Harlow's first. Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" holds at No. 4 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 2, and his "Shivers" rises 6-5 for a new high. The latter becomes his sixth top-five hit, as he charts top-five entries simultaneously for the first time. Both songs are from his album =, which a week earlier launched as his fourth No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Post Malone and The Weeknd's "One Right Now" bounds onto the Hot 100 at No. 6, with 23.3 million airplay audience impressions, 17.3 million streams, and 12,800 sold in its first week, following its Nov. 5 release. It begins at No. 3 on Digital Song Sales, No. 5 on Streaming Songs, and No. 30 on Radio Songs. The track debuts as Post Malone's 10th Hot 100 top 10, and first since "Circles," which became his fourth No. 1 in November 2019, and The Weeknd's 14th top 10. Walker Hayes' "Fancy Like" dips 5-7 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 3. It dominates the multi-metric Hot Country Songs chart for the 18th week. "Smokin' Out the Window" by Silk Sonic, the twosome of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, debuts at No. 8 on the Hot 100, with 21 million streams, 5.9 million in airplay audience, and 9,300 sold in its first week, following its Nov. 5 arrival. It bows No. 3 on Streaming Songs and No. 8 on Digital Song Sales. The collab, which contributes to the chart histories of both artists, is Mars' 18th Hot 100 top 10 and Anderson .Paak's second, after their "Leave the Door Open," which spent two weeks at No. 1 in April-May. Both songs (as well as "Skate," which debuted and peaked at No. 14 on the Hot 100 in August) are from the pair's album An Evening With Silk Sonic, released Friday (Nov. 12). "Window" concurrently opens at No. 1 on the multi-metric Hot R&B Songs chart, where it's Mars' fourth leader and Anderson .Paak's second, after "Door." ("Skate" glided to No. 3 on the survey.) Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Doja Cat's "Need to Know" slips to No. 9 from its No. 8 best, and Glass Animals' "Heat Waves" holds at its No. 10 high, a week after it completed the longest trip (42 weeks) to the top 10 in the chart's history. The latter rules the multi-metric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs charts for an eighth week each. Again, for all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram and all charts (dated Nov. 20), including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh on Billboard.com tomorrow (Nov. 16).

...A record Taylor herself will likely break next week. Fearless only had 8 so I'd really be surprised about that. We can all just hope & cheer for Starlight it's at a bit of a disadvantage due to being track 15 but the great thing about the Swift rerelease album bombs is they seem to be grabbing the highlight's so there's hope!

...A record Taylor herself will likely break next week. While I kinda understand why it happens, it's always been interesting to me that there's always a separate distinction made for ONLY female acts when it comes to setting/breaking records on music charts. I don't know if it's something that's always happened in the music industry but I know it's something I've only noticed since the start of the streaming era. There are lists of the most #1s, most top 10s, biggest streaming debuts, etc and then there's the "the biggest --- for a female artist", "the most --- for a female artist" lists. Men never get separate lists for their achievements but female artists do so that their achievements are further highlighted and made out to be a bigger deal. It's almost like female acts can't compete otherwise.

Unfortunately female artists traditionally have never performed at a level that male artists.
I'm sure if a list of most streamed artists of all time was released from Spotify there would be 3 male artists for every female artist. Therefore a separate grouping for achievements seems appropriate.

Yeah it's definitely been happening well before the streaming era, in terms of chart performance - number of #1's/top 10's, etc., sales - highest selling debuts/first weeks, number of albums to cross certain sales thresholds, and then of course the "greatest-selling female artist of all time" (in terms of worldwide album sales), which is nearly impossible to determine or verify exactly, so I've seen that claim being made for Madonna, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion, lol.

So I just checked the Mediabase radio updates, INDUSTRY BABY just dethroned STAY so STAY's run at the top ends and INDUSTRY BABY gets at least one week on top of Pop Top 40.
What was super shocking though was Fancy Like already lost the Top Spot on Country, If I Didn't Love You re-took the top spot (Cold As You seems to be the next one). It isn't even number two, it's already down to #10. So officially, Fancy Like has no more support on radio. So much for sneaking in a week at #1 before the holiday season.

Other charts: BL just barely held on (at #50) for a 94th week on the streaming charts. With Red, 30, and Christmas coming, this will likely be its last week on that chart until the New Year. Perfect fell off the sales chart, leaving its total at 99 weeks on that chart.

AIWFCIY managed to re-enter at #4 in Hot 100 Recurrents. Might have been closer to re-entering the Hot 100 if there hadn't been all those top 40 debuts and Summer Walker's album bomb.

No one is ever allowed to complain other radio format being slow EXCEPT alternative "Follow You" is getting a new radio push, mostly targeted towards CHR, for reasons no one understands, so maybe that's why it's rebounding? IIRC They ruled that chart for over a year with "Believer", "Thunder" and "Whatever it Takes".

I mean I was more peeved that Monsters is still in the Top 5 OVER A YEAR SINCE IT WAS RELEASED and months since it's radio run should've ended but Follow You also getting some play is also some bs. Imagine if they pushed Beach Bunny, WILLOW, The Marias, The War on Drugs, Wolf Alice, hell even Avril now that she's back, all of these alternative acts getting less airplay than goddamn Monsters.

Taylor Swift sends two songs from her newly released album onto Billboard radio airplay charts.
Taylor Swift sends two songs from her newly released album Red (Taylor's Version) onto Billboard radio airplay charts.
The traditional-country "I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor's Version) (From the Vault)," featuring Chris Stapleton, jumps onto the Country Airplay tally (dated Nov. 20) at No. 23. Released Nov. 12 and aided by hourly plays that day on participating iHeartMedia stations, it bows with 6.1 million impressions at the format in its first three days, according to MRC Data.
The song marks Swift's second-highest start among her 39 Country Airplay entries, following "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," which began at its No. 13 peak in September 2012. Stapleton scores his highest premiere, besting "Either Way" (No. 26, its peak, May 2017).
"Think," whose official video arrived Monday (Nov. 15), is one of nine new "From the Vault" songs on Swift's 30-track, re-recorded LP Red (Taylor's Version), also released Nov. 12. (Notably, "We Are Never" is from the original Red.) In another tie-in to the initial Red, Swift earns her highest Country Airplay rank as a lead artist since the set's title track placed at its No. 7 high in December 2013. She segued more fully to pop with her next album, 1989, in 2014.
Swift also enters Adult Pop Airplay at No. 36 with the new album's pop-oriented "Message in a Bottle (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)." Concentrated airplay on iHeartMedia stations also contributed to spins in the song's first day of release. The song marks Swift's record-extending 36th career Adult Pop Airplay entry.
Meanwhile, the new LP's high-profile "All Too Well (Taylor's Version)," whose 10-minute, 13-second "From the Vault" version is accompanied by its 14-minute, 56-second short film video that additionally premiered Nov. 12, has received a sampling of all-format airplay (favoring its 5-minute, 29-second version), translating to 150,000 in audience over its first three days.
Red (Taylor's Version) is set to launch on next week's Billboard album charts, dated Nov. 27.
