Hopefully Adele's certifications get updated during her new era. It'd be interesting to see how high "Rolling In The Deep" will be when updated. It should be on around 8.8 million sales. Streams might bring it to 11-12x platinum?

I also wonder if "Hello" is diamond now too. It was certified 7x platinum in September 2016. I wouldn't be surprised if that was at or near diamond.

"Someone Like You" could possibly be diamond as well given it was certified 5x platinum way back in 2012.

Sinatra's "Have Yourself..." was ranked in the 190s the day prior, though, yes, the robust gain is odd. It's seen other odd chains/losses before. Maybe Spotify/someone is adding and removing it. and then adding and removing it, etc. etc. from playlists on a regular basis. :)

Hey, so what happened to the Mediabase callouts website? I haven't checked them in about a week before just now, and this week's callouts haven't been published yet. Moreover, it seems like they want to shift the publication date to Monday instead of Friday, but when they tried to do that, they messed up the entire system and now none of the callouts from any genre or point in time are showing.

So...something I found looking into GAYLE: I was seriously expecting more songs like abcdefu in her back catalog, that she really was a female blackbear. She only has 3 other songs so I thought I knew what I was getting...and I didn't get that at all. Again, only 3 songs and they're all different in sound so maybe not a perfect guess of her, but these all ranged from bedroom R&B to indie pop and these all feel more authentic and real than her biggest hit, certainly didn't sound like it.



I'm convinced that Atlantic is the one that pushed her into the alt trap punk sound and that's how we wound up getting abcdefu (Royal & the Serpent also changed sound and style).

What’s up with the muted Spotify performance of the Christmas classics this year? Last year AIWFCIY had over 1M streams on Thanksgiving and Brenda wasn’t far off either.

The video streams probably take it over 200 million with HITS, but let’s see what Billboard’s final number is.

Her not even guaranteed to cross 200m is definitely surprising to some extent. I also wouldn’t have thought Summer Walker would do more streams possibly.

Last year the pandemic was worse and more people were in their own homes, etc. More people out and about this year.

I'd be OK with the Xmas domination slowing down a bit tbh. But even the somewhat diminished levels they might have this year will be enough to smash the charts. Adele was probably the last big release of the year.

It’s possible last year was the abnormal year for holiday music with the pandemic and people needing anything to feel cheerful. Are this year’s numbers more in like with 2019 or 2018 by chance?
