For what it's worth, 30 has a Metacritic rating of 91, which is actually only 1 short of Red (Taylor's Version).

It's by far her best album. Not single potential wise but just pure and utter quality. To be loved is the best Adele song ever for me

Saw people joking about her occupying the entire top 10 on the hot 100 next week and the way things are going I could definitely see her debuting at least a few songs in the top 10...

Crazy to think that she (currently) only has 7 top ten hits and 11 top 40s. Those totals are likely going to be very different after next week.

I skimmed thru Adele's album (listened to a bit of each song), here's my impressions: ~QUALITY~. This album is like the textbook definition of music. Years of work when into these songs, and it SHOWS. The whole album is incredibly fine-tuned and polished. From a more subjective POV, you need to be into slow music or else some of these songs are gonna put you to sleep.

~DISTINCT~ Her sound actually evolved! Easy On Me did not give that impression. In fact, that's the only song in the whole album that even sounds like her past stuff IMO. Everything in 30 is orchestral and there's a lot of 1940's influence done in a fresh way.

Here's the songs that stand out to me:
-Cry Your Heart Out - funky & feel-good
-Strangers by Nature - mystical & pretty
-Oh My God / Can I Get It - if you're like me and have a general distate for slow music, these 2 are gonna be your favorite. Fast(er)-paced and energetic.
-All Night Parking - We officially have an Adele song with a trap beat, something I thought she was gonna avoid like the plague. Nice! I see this as the most likely to become a hit, not just for the trap influence, but it's also pretty short.


There's my mini review. I was genuinely expecting this album to just be 25 2.0 with nothing interesting & I'm pleasantly surprised. Adele did great!

I don't know why people always have such high expectations, like if he ain't stressing that much with all his collaborations being released in such a short time, then neither should you. I'm expecting some pretty solid numbers from Adele. She should be able to debut 1 or 2 songs in the top ten. To be loved being a top ten hit would be a nice little treat.

30 was another great album. I know the length of some songs would make it a bit tedious, but if you can get through that, you'll find an amazing album beneath it.

To Be Loved is amazing. I Drink Wine is a wise choice for the new single. All in all, it's your good-old Adele in her greatness. 9/10 from me, would definitely recommend!

Is this still going to be the next single, as reported earlier? Might be a bit wiser now to wait a bit to see what the public gravitates towards, although they have to act quickly and service the single to radio by the latest at the end of this month.

It’s cool to see 3 consecutive weeks of women dominating Apple Music & streaming in general (SZA, Taylor, Adele).

There was only 7 female albums that ever got 200m+ streams in a week before this past month, now we had 3 consecutive weeks of that assuming Adele also does so.

They'd be dumb to follow through with that. They're not done with EOM yet anyways, with the new Country push. We'll see.

You actually meant Summer Walker instead of SZA, but I agree. I remember, in contrast to this, that 2018 was quite the extended sausagefest. I do hope more female artists continue to have success in streaming, not only for their songs, but for their albums in general.

^ Yeah but EOM will be nearing it's radio peak by mid-December probably, and I honestly don't think the Country push, even if there is one, will extend it too much. Plus when an album is just coming out, it's not uncommon or a bad idea to release another single shortly after the first, and this would help the album perform even better than it already will. I see your point somewhat though, and It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if they waited till shortly after the new year to make a more thought-out decision for the second single.
